Wu-Tang Clan's founding star Oliver "Power" Grant passed away at 52 on February 26, and the cause of death is still unknown. He helped create the rap group in 1992, and they still tour to this day.
The Staten Island group shared the news online and wrote: "Rest in Power, Power," with a dove emoji, and a plethora of pictures of the artist when he was younger and posing alongside the group.
Power also launched the group's Wu Wear in 1995. The group's other founding member, Ol' Dirty Bastard passed away in 2004.
The Wu-Tang Clan has been announced as a 2026 nominee for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The rap group is currently on a world tour called The Final Chamber, which began last year and will end in Australia in March 2026.

RZA is the iconic chief producer for the group and helped the Clan stand out sonically.
Apart from the rap group, he has had a solo career, and released albums like Bobby Digital In Stereo, Birth Of A Prince, and Digi Snacks.
The rapper also ventured into the world of acting and appeared in Ghost Dog and American Gangster.
On top of that, he's simultaneously co-written, directed and created the soundtrack for The Man With the Iron Fists. RZA is currently working on his album A Ballet Through Mud.
GZA, who also goes by The Genius, also had a solo career. He released his own album titled Words From The Genius in 1991, prior to joining the Clan the following year.
He's released other solo albums including Beneath the Surface, Legend Of The Liquid Sword, and Pro Tools.
GZA also landed a voice acting gig on the film Kipo And The Age Of Wonderbeasts.
Method Man put out his debut solo album Tical two years after the group was formed. He's also released his projects 4:21…The Day After and The Meth Lab.
The rapper got involved in acting and appeared in Hood of Horror, This is the Night, How High, Oz, and The Wire. Most recently, he's been a regular on the show Power Book II: Ghost.
Raekwon, who often goes by "The Chef," also released his own solo albums called Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Immobilarity, and The Lex Diamond Story.
He created his own record label called Ice H20 Records in 2012. The rapper released his projects The Wild and Fly International Luxurious Art through his own label.
Ghostface Killah put out a plethora of albums including Ironman, Fishscale, Apollo Kids, 36 Seasons and Ghostface Killahs. Overall he has impressively released a total of 13 albums and five collaborative projects.
He has also appeared in Big Wigs, Human Giant, Luke Cage and Up and Above.
Most recently, he released Supreme Clientele 2 last summer and is concluding his solo tour.
Inspectah Deck also went down the solo route apart from the group and released his albums The Movement, Manifesto, Chamber No. 9, Resident Patient and Uncontrolled Substance.
He joined other hip hop groups including Czarface, 7L & Esoteric. Alongside the groups, he put out over 10 albums including Czartificial Intelligence and Double Dose of Danger and Super What?
Masta Killa became a solo artist with his debut album No Said Date, which was released in 2004. Later on, he also put out his albums Selling My Soul and Loyalty is Royalty.
His most recent project called Balance was put out in April 2025.
