Jim Carrey looked "unrecognizable" during a glamorous night out overseas.
The Truman Show star attended the 51st edition of the Cesar Film Awards ceremony in Paris on February 26.
He donned a noticeably longer hairstyle which is now shoulder-length, but still with his usual middle part.
Jim rocked an all-black tuxedo with a black button-up shirt and bowtie. Fans were shocked by his latest look and shared their candid thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter.
One person wrote: "[He looks] unrecognizable." Another fan commented: "You can't even recognize him anymore."
His recent public appearance is his first this year. The last time he made a public appearance was in November 2025 for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
During that event he sported a shorter gelled-back hairstyle with a knee-long black blazer with white stripes, a graphic t-shirt, black pants and boots.
Jim's previous appearances
Jim has attended less and less events over the years and hasn't taken on an acting role since Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in 2024.
The actor has previously been candid about feeling disconnected from his craft and industry.
In 2018, he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter: "I just didn't want to be in the business anymore. I didn't like what was happening, the corporations taking over and all that. And maybe it's because I felt pulled toward a different type of creative outlet and I really liked the control of painting — of not having a committee in the way telling me what the idea must be to appeal to a four-quadrant whatever."
About his hiatus
Since his hiatus from Hollywood, Jim has ventured into the world of art instead. He has been prioritizing painting, drawing, creating sculptures and even being a political cartoonist as well.
He's since discovered a newfound freedom and explained: "I'm not back in the same way. I don't feel I'm little Jim trying to hang on to a place in the stratosphere anymore — I don't feel like I'm trying to hold on to anything." As for whether or not he'll make a return to acting, Jim remains cautious.
He explained: "I feel like I have enough, I've done enough, I am enough. I really like my quiet life. It depends. If the angels bring some sort of script that's written in gold ink that says to me that it's going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road, but I'm taking a break," per Access Hollywood.
