Nicole Kidman just added buttery leather to her sartorial agenda as she stepped out in a full monochromatic look in New York City. The actress appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 2 to promote her new tv series, Scarpetta.
The 58-year-old donned an all-black ensemble courtesy of the fashion brand Khaite. The look featured a cropped leather jacket with a tailored silhouette, refined button detailing along the bodice, and sharply structured shoulders. The glossy garment was styled with a simple black maxi skirt, sheer stockings, and a pair of pointed-toe heels.
Nicole's luscious blonde locks were styled into soft waves while her makeup oozed soft glam, courtesy of a smoky eye, a pinch of blush, and a glossy lip. Following the interview, Nicole layered the look with an oversize leopard print jacket for a bold twist.
The actress is no stranger to the minimalist power of a sleek leather jacket that oozed Y2K energy. Back in May last year, Nicole attended the Kering Women in Motion Talk at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival. For the occasion, the star opted for a black leather jacket that boasted a corset front. The 00s-biker inspired number was styled with low-rise black jeans . and a wide black belt adorned with gold buckle.
Nicole stars as the lead role in the new crime thriller. She plays Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the iconic character from Patricia Cornwell's bestselling book series. Described as a "gripping, multi-layered thriller," the eight-part series is told across two timelines: from Scarpetta's early career as a Chief Medical Examiner in the late '90s to the present day.
The series centres around medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta, who with "skilled hands and an unnerving eye," is determined to serve as the voice of the victims, unmask a serial killer, and prove that her career-making case from 28 years prior isn't also her undoing.
The synopsis reads: "Set against the backdrop of modern forensic investigation, the series delves beyond the crime scene to explore the psychological complexities of both perpetrators and investigators, creating a multi-layered thriller that examines the toll of pursuing justice at all costs.
"As Scarpetta pursues justice, she must navigate complicated relationships, including the fraught dynamic with her sister Dorothy Farinelli (Jamie Lee Curtis), confront long-held professional and personal grudges, and face secrets that threaten to unravel everything she's built."
HELLO!'s TV Writer, Abby Allen, spoke to us about what fans can expect from the series. "You know you're in for a treat when Nicole Kidman is at the helm of a project, and her upcoming role as forensic scientist Dr. Kay Scarpetta promises to be just as gripping," she shared. "Plus, with Jamie Lee Curtis starring opposite her as her sister, I can't wait to see how their 'fraught' dynamic is brought to life."
