On March 4, it was revealed that actress and model Annabel Schofield had passed away at the age of 62 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
While she kept away from the limelight in recent years, especially as her cancer progressed, she kept her fans updated through her social media page and a GoFundMe.
Annabel's cancer journey
In November of 2023, Annabel started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her cancer treatment, first going public with her diagnosis. "I'm having surgery tomorrow and will be in the hospital for 5 days," she'd penned on social media at the time.
While she never specified what kind of cancer she had been diagnosed with, she continued with radiation therapy for two more months, updating fans on the process on social media. "And we are done! Almost two months of doing this every day is finally over and now I can celebrate!" she wrote on Instagram in February 2024.
In June, she shared an update, revealing that her scans showed that she was in the clear, after dealing with months of residual facial paralysis from the surgery and radiation. "I'm cautiously optimistic that my life can now resume (albeit with a healthier diet)."
Annabel continued sharing updates while undergoing chemotherapy, updating her GoFundMe page to reflect the same. However, in June of 2025, the page was updated once more, with Annabel later adding that "the cancer had spread to my brain," requiring immediate chemotherapy.

She also added that they had discovered a tumor-like mass behind her eyes that was not responding to chemo. "My eyes are already struggling so I'm excited to get this done and over with," she wrote in an update dated October of 2025.
In December, she returned with another update on the status of her GoFundMe page, which was set with a $40,000 goal and had raised over $34,000 as of writing, explaining that while chemotherapy was continuing, progress was mixed, resulting in more negative emotions.
"All of this is compounded by the Christmas season and the fact that I'm alone most days and completely out of money," she shared. "I don't know how I'm going to pay my rent at this point. I've been living incredibly frugally, but everything is so expensive and I'm panicking. I keep hoping for a miracle, but thus far, no miracle has occurred."
In January of 2026, she confirmed that her surgery was complete and she was home. Her final update was on January 20 on Instagram, in which she wrote: "It was very exciting to finally get this done but I'm not out of the woods yet."
"I'm very wobbly and now waiting to find out if I need more chemo or radiation. I swear it never seems to end. Hopefully this week's MRI will reveal a nice clear image."
Her life and career
Born in Llanelli, Dyfed, Wales in 1963 to producer John D. Schofield, she was best known for her recurring turn in 1988 on the beloved long-running soap opera Dallas, playing Laurel Ellis for a 12-episode stint.
She was also a popular staple of the London social circle and fashion scene in the 1980s, appearing in ad campaigns for Revlon, Gianni Versace, Yves St. Laurent, Bugle Boy, and Levi's. She also boasts credits as a producer (most recently 2017's The Patent Scam) and as an author, releasing a novel titled The Cherry Alignment.
Although, as far as the over-the-top Southern style on Dallas goes, she once told Mirror80: "Oh those clothes were a nightmare! I remember when I first started they were all about listening to me and keeping me natural and lightly made up, but little by little, the shoulder pads got bigger, my hair got higher and my lips got redder."
"I ended up in a white fur coat, but I started out in jean shorts! I gave up after a while trying to influence fashion on Dallas."
