Savannah Guthrie visited the Today set on March 5 for the first time since her mother Nancy Guthrie disappeared on January 31.
She came in to see her studio family for a personal visit which was off-air.
NBC News revealed in a statement: "Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her Today colleagues. While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home."
Since her absence, Sheinelle Jones has stepped in as her standby host alongside Craig Melvin, and Hoda Kotb also temporarily served as a host as well.
Savannah's studio family has remained supportive both on Today as Savannah continues to deal with the traumatizing situation.
Craig previously sought out advice from professional psychotherapist and author Niro Feliciano during her on-air visit, to help him with feelings of "helplessness."
Craig said: "Really quickly, before I let you go out of here, there are a lot of folks here in the studio and in this building…we're having a rough go at it…and folks watching and listening at home at home, probably feel this overwhelming sense of helplessness with regard to our friend, and her mother who's been missing now for some time…What would you advise?"
She continued: "I will say there are three things we can do to move through this. Number one, if you are a prayerful person, you pray without ceasing. Prayers are powerful and the people who move through that tragedy with faith, came out stronger and even more joyful than those without it."
The psychotherapist added: "I would say the only way we're gonna overcome evil is with more good. So, focus, instead of on the why questions, which make us feel more helpless, focus on the who and the what. 'Who can we love? Who can we connect to and what good can we put out in the world?'"
Craig has continued to lead with optimism when it comes to finding Nancy.
He also commented on one of Savannah's videos in which she emotionally emphasized: "Bring her home. It's never too late to do the next right thing."
Craig reiterated on-air: "Never too late," as Hoda replied, "never too late, yeah," and Craig once again repeated: "Never too late."
Sadly, Nancy is still missing, and the police continue to investigate the situation.
Savannah plans on returning to the Today show, however, a date has not yet been set.
