Rhea Seehorn has had a whirlwind six months thanks to the success of her hit Apple TV series Pluribus. Despite being an award-winning actress for her breakout role in Better Call Saul (2015 - 2022), Pluribus has taken Rhea to new heights.
But as she shared in her Golden Globes speech in January, Hollywood events can be "pretty scary" for Rhea – and thankfully, she's had an "incredible" support system around her to help. Rhea, 53, has been with her partner Graham Larson since 2012, and she tells HELLO! that it's "not an easy job to be in support of somebody who is gone a lot – and in the arts, there's a certain commitment."
"I wish I could say that there isn't a gender specificity to it, but there is, because if it was the man leaving town and working his ass off, nobody would say anything,"" she continued, adding: "I very much appreciate that Graham… if I can't come home for the weekend, his first question is, 'Did you get more scenes?' because he's thrilled for me."
Graham was with Rhea as the pair attended An Unforgettable Evening benefiting the Women's Cancer Research Fund on Wednesday, March 11, in Beverly Hills, alongside Graham's ex-wife Mary Alice Haney, who was co-chairing the event, and celebrity ob-gyn Dr Theis Aliabadi, with whom Mary hosts the SheMD podcast.
Rhea's family life
Mary Alice and Rhea met through their hairdresser, and Mary Alice was the one who set up Graham – with whom she has two sons – and Rhea on their first date.
Mary Alice now calls Rhea "one of my best friends... she's a stepmother to my children, and my sister from another mister".
Rhea has also appeared on the SheMD podcast, where they discussed co-parenting and how to have a happy divorce; other celebrity guests included Kim Kardashian and Hailey Bieber, whose baby, Jack, Dr Aliabadi helped deliver.
A-list support
During her Golden Globes speech, which Rhea said she "blacked out" during, the actress thanked the women in the room who "have been incredible in the last couple of weeks".
Those women, she now shares, include Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti, Kristen Bell and Keri Russell, and Sarah Snook. "All of these women saw me at different parties getting a little overwhelmed and they kept coming up and saying, 'Hey, are you OK? Do you want some water?'" Rhea tells HELLO!
"They have all been really lovely, and we are very supportive of each other," she adds.
"Men made up the idea that women are not able to support other women. It has been born out of a societal wrong that there is a scarcity and that we only get one piece of the pie. But we're going to make a new pie."
Breast cancer awareness
Rhea's mom is a 16-year Breast Cancer survivor, diagnosed between stage three and four in 2010. Rhea says although that the diagnosis "used to be a death sentence, and now it's not... we have to keep fighting this fight".
"We're all going to have somebody that we love, or ourselves, that is going to hear this news, and you need to seek out the help that's available And like these two women have taught me – advocate for yourself more than anybody, more than any doctor. You have to be your advocate."
