Jennifer Lopez is spending more time focusing on herself, her family and her career in the wake of her last divorce.
The performer, 56, is currently spending her days in Las Vegas, helming a brand new residency, Jennifer Lopez: Up All Night Live in Las Vegas at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The residency kicked off on December 30, 2025, her second time in Sin City after All I Have, which ran from 2016 to 2018. Up All Night concludes on March 28 after 12 total shows, with opening night also featuring a special appearance from her twins, Max and Emme.
Bennifer: The Saga
It also happened to launch just under a year after her divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck was finalized. The couple first were together from 2002 to 2004, calling off their engagement due to the intense public scrutiny surrounding their relationship.
They remained friends though and reconnected romantically during the Covid-19 lockdown, starting things off once again and finally tying the knot in 2022. In 2024, however, two years after their nuptials in Georgia, Jennifer filed for divorce. It was finalized in January of 2025.
In her "happy era"
Now, in a new interview with Juju Chang on Good Morning America, the "Waiting for Tonight" singer says she's in a "happy era," one that's marked with a shift towards doing things for herself and her own fulfillment, especially as her kids prepare to head off to college. "I think for the first time in my life, I feel like I'm free, I'm on my own. And it feels really good."
The performer looked back on the summer of 2024, when she had to step away from the limelight in the midst of her split from Ben. "I had to stop everything, I took a year off, I canceled tours," she remarked. "I just decided to be home and sit in what had happened without running away from it through work, through another person, through anything. Just sit."
She mentioned also that it did feel at the time like her life had "exploded," and she wanted to prioritize being at home with her kids and started to think: "What is going on with you?" She noted avoiding placing the blame on anyone else to figure things out for herself and doing some introspection.
Back on the market?
Over a year in, though, Jennifer confirmed that she is happily single, and when asked if she was "dating up a storm," she quickly laughed it off and quipped: "No! No, I'm not. God forbid, I don't wanna ruin anything! It's so nice right now, I'm so happy. It's the best!"
"I just feel really…good, right now. And that was a scary thing for me when I was younger. I didn't know if I could do that, I was always really afraid to be alone."
When asked who she considers herself to be today, the Hustlers star replied: "I am a mom of graduates this year who are going to college. I am a showgirl and an entertainer, and an actor. An entrepreneur. And I am happy, and I am healthy, I am grateful. That's who I am today, and I am surrounded by love."
