Fans were treated to a dose of comedy nostalgia at the 2026 Oscars as the cast of Bridesmaids reunited onstage – and proved their chemistry is just as sharp as ever.
Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne and Ellie Kemper took to the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to present an award, immediately sparking cheers from the crowd and a frenzy online.
The actresses presented the awards for Best Original Score (won by Ludwig Göransson for Sinners) and Best Sound (won by the Brad Pitt racing epic F1).
"We are so happy to all be here together tonight," Kristen began, before poking fun at the passage of time. "I cannot believe that it's been 15 years now. We are not good with numbers, but we figured it out backstage. That means we shot this movie in 1883."
The tongue-in-cheek humour continued as Ellie began introducing the nominees, only for the group to be interrupted by supposed note cards from audience members sharing their thoughts.
"Well, mine says, 'First of all, you ladies look extremely beautiful tonight,'" Maya read aloud. "That's nice. Aw, thank you. 'You're all aging well.' Signed Stellan Skarsgård." The camera then cut to Stellan in the audience nodding approvingly.
But the playful jabs didn't stop there. Rose then revealed a message allegedly from Leonardo DiCaprio that read: "Rose, can you please stop looking at me? The eye contact is too much. I'm thinking of leaving. I'm very uncomfortable."
The bit had the audience roaring, with fans quickly praising the reunion as one of the night's most entertaining moments.
Originally released in 2011, Bridesmaids became a cultural phenomenon and reshaped the landscape for female-led comedies. Directed by Paul Feig and co-written by Wiig and Annie Mumolo, the film earned critical acclaim, massive box office success and an Oscar nomination for Melissa McCarthy.
Since then, each of the actresses has gone on to build an impressive career across film and television, but their enduring friendship – and effortless comedic timing – remains a defining part of their legacy.
More than a decade on, the Oscars reunion served as a joyful reminder of the film's lasting impact, proving that the bond forged during one of Hollywood's most beloved comedies is still very much alive.
