Aida Turturro has sparked a wave of nostalgic excitement among Sopranos fans after sharing a rare reunion moment with two of her former co-stars – and many couldn't help but notice how healthy and svelte she looks.
The actress, 63, best known for her unforgettable portrayal of Janice Soprano on the acclaimed HBO series, recently posted a cheerful photo from a lunch outing with Steven Van Zandt and Steve Schirripa. Smiling brightly alongside the actors, who played Silvio Dante and Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri – Aida's onscreen husband – respectively, she appeared relaxed and radiant as she enjoyed the catch-up.
"Lunch with the boys," she captioned the social media snapshot, delighting fans who have long remained devoted to the iconic crime drama and its enduring cast. Aida was also pictured with former co-star Edie Falco earlier this year at The American Heart Association's Red Dress Collection Concert.
Aida's performance as Janice – the unpredictable and often chaotic sister of mob boss Tony Soprano – remains one of the show's most memorable elements. Over the course of the series, which ran from 1999 to 2007, the character frequently swept into storylines with emotional intensity and a flair for drama. Whether navigating complicated family tensions or turbulent romantic relationships, Janice became a fan-favourite for her unapologetic personality and unpredictable arc.
The role earned Aida two Emmy nominations and cemented her status as a standout performer within one of television's most celebrated ensembles. Off-screen, the cast has famously maintained strong bonds, with reunions like this one offering a glimpse into the lasting camaraderie forged during the show's groundbreaking run.
Beyond The Sopranos, Aida has continued to build a steady and diverse acting career. She has made recurring appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, portraying Judge Felicia Catano since the early 2010s, and has also appeared in a wide range of film and television projects over the years. Her versatility has allowed her to move seamlessly between drama, comedy and character-driven roles.
In recent years, the actress has also spoken candidly about her health journey, including her experiences living with rheumatoid arthritis and type 2 diabetes. Reflecting on the moment she realised she needed to take her diagnosis seriously, she previously shared how a frank conversation with her doctor became a turning point.
"A couple of years ago, my doctor said, 'Listen, your blood sugars have been out of control… you're putting yourself at risk for problems like kidney disease, heart failure, blindness, neuropathy, possibly even death,' and it finally hit me," she told Ability Magazine.
Admitting she was initially fearful of starting insulin treatment, she explained that she ultimately recognised the importance of taking control of her condition, comparing it to any other serious illness requiring urgent care. "If someone said, 'You have cancer, and you really need to start chemo,' would you say no? Of course not," she said.
Her latest reunion appearance suggests the beloved actress is embracing both her wellbeing and the enduring friendships that shaped one of television’s most iconic eras.
