OnlyFans owner Leonid Radvinsky has passed away on March 23 at the age of 43, following a private battle with cancer.
A spokesperson for the company released a statement saying: "We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Leo Radvinsky. Leo passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer. His family have requested privacy at this difficult time."
Leonid was a Ukrainian-American who was born in Odesa and when he was a young child, his family immigrated to Chicago.
At just 17 years old, he helped create Cybertania Inc, which provide website referrals, while he was a student at Northwestern University.
From the 1990s into the 200s, Leonid launched a plethora of websites including Working Passes, Ultra Passwords, and Password Universe.
He went on to earn a degree in economics from Northwestern University in 2002. Two years later, he launched MyFreeCams, which was an adult streaming website.
In 2009, he launched Leo, which is a venture capital fund that uses its funds to invest in tech companies, which included B4X, and Pleroma.
In 2018, Leonid purchased a 75% stake in the brand Fenix International Ltd., which was the parent company of OnlyFans. He went on to become the solo shareholder of the brand.
The brand was initially started by Guy and Tim Stokely, who were a United Kingdom-based father and son team, who launched the company in 2016.
Leonid had a jaw-dropping net worth of $4.7 billion, per Forbes. OnlyFans earns a 20% fee from its subscriptions and content and it has over 300 million fans.
According to Forbes, OnlyFans makes over $1.4 billion in revenue each year. The billionaire was married to Katie Chudnovsky since 2008 and the couple had four children and lived in Florida.
The pair has donated millions to gastrointestinal cancer studies and to charities such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the West Suburban Humane Society.
Fans took to social media to pay tribute to him. One person wrote: "Legend! Your legacy will definitely live on for a long time." Another follower added: "Not the obituary I wanted to read today."
One fan commented: "Regardless of what you think about OnlyFans, RIP to Leonid Radvinsky. Without your platform, I'd probably still be homeless. I owe a lot to the platform he built."
