Mark Calaway was known as The Undertaker, antagonist turned protagonist with the WWE

Who is The Undertaker?

The Undertaker aka Mark Calaway was born on 24 March 1965 in Houston, Texas. The 6'10" wrestler got his start in WWF (which would become WWE) in 1990 and began as a heel, one of the WWE villains, but later turned face, a protagonist role.

His best known catchphrases include, "You can not kill that which is already dead" and "Rest in peace". In 2000, Calaway debuted his 'American Badass' persona which cast Mark as a trash-talking biker.

Jodie Lynn is The Undertaker's first wife and mother of his eldest child Gunner

Jodie Lynn

Mark said 'I do' to his first wife Jodie Lynn in 1989. Their marriage predated Mark's global success and he has since expressed regret over not spending more time with his son, Gunner, who the couple welcomed in 1993. Gunner now regularly streams on Twitch and attended Full Sail University.

Speaking on the True Geordie podcast he said: “I can safely say there was an eight-year stretch where I averaged over 250 dates a year on the road. Probably the biggest negative aspect was my oldest son, I missed him growing up. I wish I could have been a better man and figured that out." He split from Jodie after a decade of marriage in 1999.

While married to Sara, he blended his work and home life, both appearing on WWE: Undertaker – This is My Yard (2001). Sara is also credited on WWE Raw (1993) and WWE Smackdown! (1999). The couple divorced in 2007 and she has since married Jason Schnuit.
