Sir Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shevell, were photographed soaking up the sun in St Barths this week. The dreamy vacation comes after the musician announced his first album in five years and released a new single this month.
The Beatles star wore a waterproof top and matching navy shorts as he took a dip in the ocean alongside his wife of 15 years. Nancy showed off her sculpted physique in a matching zip-up waterproof vest and a pair of brown bikini bottoms. Paul's wife kept a low profile with a large white sunhat and a pair of black sunglasses. The couple were also spotted embracing in the ocean and sharing a loving kiss.
The 14-track album, titled "The Boys of Dungeon Lane", revisits memories from the singer’s formative years in Liverpool, including his early experiences with late bandmates George Harrison and John Lennon before their rise to Beatles fame.
"I was thinking just that, about the days I left behind and I do often wonder if I’m just writing about the past but then I think, how can you write about anything else?" shared the musician. "It’s just a lot of memories of Liverpool. We didn’t have much at all but it didn’t matter because all the people were great and you didn’t notice you didn’t have much."
Paul and Nancy's love story
The pair first met in 2007 and enjoyed a whirlwind romance, with Paul finding love again after the loss of his first wife, Linda McCartney, and the end of his second marriage with Heather Mills. Their wedding took place in an intimate ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London on 9 October 2011.
Paul previously opened up about how he keeps the romance alive with the businesswoman in a post on his website. He explained how he tries to be a "considerate and romantic" husband and loves spoiling his wife when it comes to special occasions like Valentine's Day and Christmas.
"If there's an excuse to have some fun, I overdo it! At Christmas, I go crazy with the tree lights and fairy lights - totally overdo it," he penned.
"I try to be helpful as a husband too. If there's a problem, I like to be the guy that will lend some strength to it. I'm always very happy to be the person Nancy relies on, and to be her strength when she goes through tough times."
He continued: "I am very proud, in fact, to be 'The Guy' there. And I know she is grateful. So, that's my role as a husband: it's to be the strength and the romance at the same time. I don't think I consciously chose to be that way. It's just how I do things."
