The Pink Ladies wouldn't be anything without street-smart Rizzo, giggly Jan and, of course, sweet-natured Frenchy. Didi Conn is best known as the beautiful blonde pineapple from Grease who dropped out of high school (or made a strategic career move, depending on who you're asking). It's now almost 50 years since the high-schooler's dyeing mishap left her with a bouffant do ready for the candy floss cart.
We'll always be together in the halls of Rydell High but if you've wondered what the actress has been up to since, we've got the article that you want, woah-woah-yeah!
Didi and husband David are parents to adopted son Daniel
Personal life
The actress has been married twice, first to Frankie Conn between 1975 and 1978, whose last name she still uses as an actor today, and second to her now-husband David Shire who she wed in 1982.
She and husband David welcomed their only child, adopted son Daniel after tying the knot. Following Daniel's autism diagnosis and her advocacy work, Didi was named national celebrity spokesperson for Autism Speaks in 2008.
Before Frenchy was Frenchy, Dodi appeared in several films and tv series
Early career
Prior to her starring role in Grease, Didi had a host of roles across iconic series and several TV movies. The actress appeared in single episodes of Happy Daysand The Rookies as well as a longer running role between 1976 and 1977 in The Practice.
Her early movie credits include 1977's Handle with Care and 1978 features Three on a Dateand Almost Summer.

Our favourite Pink Lady
Of course, it's as the pink-haired Pink Lady that Didi Conn is best remembered. In 1978, she took on the role of the slightly adrift Frenchy, a high school student at Rydell who decides to study instead at beauty school.
Together with Rizzo and the rest of the gang, Frenchy teaches Sandy how to be a Pink Lady. Beauty school sure wasn't as easy as she thought it would be, but Frenchy will always be a style icon to fans of the film – pink hair and all.

Where is she now
After finding success on the hit high-school musical, Didi had successful roles in sitcom Benson (1981-1985) and hit series Shining Time Station.
More recently, she's appeared on 2025 Prime teen comedy Overcompensating and Fox drama Best Medicine. Didi also appeared on the 2019 series of Dancing on Ice, and said her son was a key inspiration for taking part.
