Golf star J.J. Spaun won the Valero Texas Open, which means the athlete also got his third PGA Tour win.

Off the grass, J.J. celebrated with his wife Melody Spaun and their two daughters.

The family has consistently been there cheering J.J on from the sidelines, including during his first major title win last year. Below we've delved into J.J.'s love and family life.

Who is Melody Spaun?

Melody is a registered nurse and she's also the backbone of the family, given J.J.'s demanding career and tournaments.

J.J. shared with US Weekly: "My wife had to deal with all of the stress of getting the girls there and making sure they looked cute for TV. Having to run out at the right time and be presentable. I know it was stressful for her. She didn't hit a shot, but she's feeling drained just being the backbone of our whole family."

The duo met through mutual friends and fittingly, their first date in 2013 was at a mini-golf course.

Melody wasn't impressed by the date, as J.J. recalled her saying: "This is lame," per Golf.com. She had no idea J.J. was a pro golfer and inquired about it.

He expressed: "I was like, yeah, 'I'm a pro golfer.' Because I thought I was cool. But she's like, 'I don't even know. What does that mean? Like, does that mean you're rich or something?' I was like, 'no.' And she's like, 'I don't really care.' And I was like, 'all right.'"

As one can imagine, J.J. spends an enormous amount of time practicing, therefore, Melody set up a five-hour rule to help him with his work-life balance.

J.J. shared: "Five hours allotment of like, 'OK, you get five hours. You got to be back by this time,' because sometimes I can get stuck out here for a long time," per Golf.com.

He added: "Yeah, so it kind of makes me productive. I don't mess around and fraternize or socialize with everyone. Kind of just do my thing. Get it in there."

J.J. lovingly shared that his family is his biggest inspiration in life.

He shared with Town & Country: "My family. My kids, my wife, they do so much. They sacrifice so much with me being gone and even when I'm at home on off weeks, I'm still practicing five, six hours a day; they understand what I have to do to stay sharp and prepared to come out here and play well. So that's why I really appreciate those weeks off, when I can have more than one week off to spend more time with them and do fun things."

J.J. added: "They're the reason why I'm so motivated and the reason why I try to be the best person I can be and be the best example I can be. So as long as I'm making them happy, I don't really care what anyone else thinks."
