Shae Cornette became ESPN's host of First Take in November 2025.
The reporter got her start at the brand in 2020, as the co-host of ESPN Radio's GameDay alongside her husband since 2019, Jordan Cornette, and she moved from Chicago to Connecticut for the role.
She also worked as a host for SiriusXM's NFL Radio, and SportsNation.
The duo not only collaborated on-screen, but they continue to do so in their everyday life with their three children, Joey, born in 2021, Saylor, born in 2023 and their oldest Carter, born in 2008, from Jordan's first marriage.
Jordan used to be a collegiate basketball player at the University of Notre Dame.
Post-graduation, he switched out his basketball for a microphone and became a sports broadcaster instead.
He worked his way up from production assistant, to producer and eventually to host.
Jordan went on to have analyst roles at Stadium, formerly known as Campus Insiders and then ESPN. where his journalistic beats were fittingly college basketball and football.
In 2023, the journalist went to work for NBC Sports and the Golf Channel.
In October 2025, Jordan made the announcement online that his wife will be co-hosting with him, and he defended her, writing: "They never made it easy for her. Beyond wild stuff. And yet she still won. Never played their game. Played hers. True boss behavior."
He continued: "They are lucky. You can't keep a star down. She is a force of nature and won’t be denied. Beyond proud of my Schway."
Shae expressed just how thankful she is for Jordan believing in her and her talents.
She gushed to Westport Magazine: "Jordan is the reason I am at ESPN. He basically begged ESPN to give me a shot on a radio show with him, and then we never looked back. He has always believed in me, and I am forever grateful that he is my person."
The duo made history by being the first married couple to co-host a show on ESPN Radio together.
The duo were featured on the cover of Westport Magazine in February 2024 and Shae shared insight into all of her children's adorable personalities.
Shae shared: "Little Joey is such a character. He has the most loving soul, but do not get in his way if he's tired or hungry. He loves cars and trucks so if there's a local touch-a-truck, we will be there! We also like to walk along Compo Beach and go to the park there with the kids."
The journalist continued: "Next is our one-year-old, Saylor. She is just starting to come into her own. Saying only 'Dada,' and she is always happy. She is slightly more dramatic and loves her play purses. 'Say Say,' as we call her, goes to music class in Westport at HartBeeps, which is adorable, especially for little girls. She also loves to go on walks and hang out on the swings."
She concluded: "And our oldest is Carter who is 16. Carty lives in Florida with his mom and is a State Champion swimmer. He is the most patient and loving big brother to his much younger siblings, and they absolutely adore him. He is constantly telling us about the cool things in the world and life hacks, thanks to TikTok."
Joey was sentimentally named after Jordan's brother Joel who passed away.
The two-time WNBA champion passed away on February 23 and left behind her husband Jarvis Jackson and their two sons, including one who is an athlete like his mom
