Katie Holmes made a rare and glowing appearance in New York City on Tuesday, as she attended a screening of Brunella: The Gracious Visionary alongside her Dawson's Creek co-star, Joshua Jackson.
The 47-year-old was a vision in a slouchy white blouse tucked into a sparkling silver maxi skirt, a look which she completed with a black clutch.
Katie wore her newly-chopped blonde-brunette locks down in beachy waves and kept her makeup natural as she walked alongside Joshua, with not a wrinkle in sight.
She was virtually unrecognizable with her shorter, blonder tresses, a far cry from her usual long brunette hair. Joshua was dapper in a burgundy suit jacket, gray pants, a white collared shirt and a black bowtie.
Katie, who looked incredibly youthful at the event, has always maintained the importance of natural beauty and shared with InStyle that she would never cosmetically enhance her lips as "my sisters would kill me".
The star later shared with People that she didn't see aging as a burden. "I embrace my age with gratitude, and I don't worry about not having makeup on. My joy comes from within," she explained.
"I drink a lot of water and try to eat a lot of vegetables to keep my skin as healthy as possible. I take care of my skin by cleaning it every morning and evening, [and] wearing a lot of hyaluronic [acid] serum and moisturizer." She added that her most important beauty products were lip gloss and sunscreen.

Katie and Joshua's joint appearance comes as the pair are set to act opposite each other in the upcoming trilogy Happy Hours, which she wrote, directed and stars in. Per Deadline, the story follows "two people navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life's inevitable obstacles".
"It's a character-driven dramedy that explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope."
Katie and Joshua's reunion is even more meaningful after the loss of their Dawson's Creek co-star and close friend, James Van Der Beek. The actor passed away in February 2026 after a lengthy battle with colorectal cancer, leaving behind his wife, Kimberly, and their six children.
Katie wrote a tribute to her late friend in letter form and shared it on social media after his death, with the missive reading: "James, thank you. To share space with your imagination is sacred – breathing the same air in the land of make believe and trusting that each other's hearts are safe in their expression…these are some of the memories along with laughter, conversations about life, James Taylor songs – adventures of a unique youth…"
She continued: "An appreciation for life and the action taken to live life with the integrity that life is art – creating a beautiful marriage, six loving children – the journey of a hero."
"I mourn this loss with a heart holding the reality of his absence and deep gratitude for his imprint on it."
