Patrick Muldoon has died at the age of 57. The adored actor — who was a mainstay of ninenties television and cult cinema — passed away on April 19 after reportedly suffering a sudden heart attack.
Patrick was best known as a daytime soap heartthrob, but formerly had football in his sights.
He was born into an athletic family in San Pedro, California in 1968.
Patrick attended the University of Southern California, where he was a drama student and a scholarship athlete.
However, his chiseled looks and athletic build eventually caught the eye of a talent scout, leading to a Calvin Klein's jeans campaign, which helped carve out his path to Hollywood.
TV and film career
He held several TV roles from playing the older college guy, Jeffrey Hunter, in Saved by the Bell, to his long running role as Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives.
Patrick also starred on Melrose Place as the villainous Richard Hart.
In 1997, the actor made his mark on the big-screen in the sci-fi satire, Starship Troopers.
He appeared in dozens of independent films and TV movies, and also launched a career as a musician.
Patrick was the lead singer and guitarist for the rock band, The Sleeping Masses, and music was his passion.
Only days before his untimely death, he shared his excitement about an upcoming project featuring, Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton.

Patrick was working on the production side of the movie. His final Instagram post read: "So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, Zazie Beetz And Alec Baldwin. Filming now in Australia."
Tributes flooded in for Patrick was described as "kind," and "talented."
