Fans of The Devil Wears Prada are rejoicing as the sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, is set to hit theaters in just a few weeks. The long-awaited film premiered in New York City on Monday, April 20, with its stars showing up in Y2K fashion, pouf hairstyles, sparkles and shades.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt attended the star-studded premiere; there were a few noticeable actors from the original film missing from the red carpet. Meryl's onscreen daughters from The Devil Wears Prada, Colleen and Suzanne Dengel, were not at the premiere for the sequel.
Only those who have seen the sequel can confirm if the twins make an appearance. While the rest of us wait to watch The Devil Wears Prada 2, here's where Colleen and Suzanne are now.
What are Miranda Priestly's twins doing now?
Colleen and Suzanne were 14 when they auditioned for their roles in the original Devil Wears Prada film as the fashion editor's twin daughters and learned about the audition while taking acting classes in Philadelphia.
After the twins acted in the now iconic film, they attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and lived together in a penthouse studio in the financial district, manufactured to be a two-bedroom.
"With twins it can go either way," Suzanne told The New York Times in 2013 about her decision to live with her sister. "But we've always been close. We were roommates in the dorm. It felt like a natural progression to get an apartment together."
Once they graduated from college, Colleen and Suzanne both moved to California. And while they both live relatively privately 20 years after The Devil Wears Prada premiered, it's reported that Suzanne tied the knot with her wife sometime before 2017.
And, on Colleen and Suzanne's 34th birthday, their mom, Susie Dengel, shared a sweet message to social media, writing: "Our girls having a twinnie weekend celebrating their birthday. Happy Birthday Suzanne and Colleen!!!!"
These days, Colleen works in human resources, focusing on federal government, higher education, finance, and nonprofit.
Suzanne and Colleen's experience on set
The twins had integral roles in The Devil Wears Prada. At the peak of Miranda and Andy Sachs' contentious relationship, the Runway editor requests the impossible-to-get copy of Harry Potter for her daughters, Cassidy and Caroline.
While the Priestly twins received the Harry Potter books, Colleen and Suzanne weren't so lucky.
"We had people asking us every single day if we had that Harry Potter I think for like three years after that movie came out," Suzanne told Buzzfeed in 2017." And, for the record, it was all gibberish. There was nothing in that book."
As for working with the legendary actors on set, Colleen told the publication: "Everyone was very accessible. Meryl was there to answer questions [and] Wendy Finerman, who produced major movies at the time, was so sweet."
