Kelly Clarkson is celebrating her 44th birthday in style. The daytime talk show host announced on Friday, April 24 that for her "special day" she was sharing the love with the audience of the Kelly Clarkson Show.
"I don't like the spotlight on me too much," Kelly told the crowd. "So I have a surprise for all of you instead. We are hooking all of you up with a pair of round-trip tickets on the iconic Texas airlines, Southwest, to wherever they fly."
Just as she made the big announcement, flight attendants from Southwest entered the stage holding tickets for the audience of the Kelly Clarkson Show, which is set to air its last show in the fall.
But before the show wrapped, Kelly's band, Y'all, couldn't let the singer go before celebrating her.
"It's not a birthday unless we have some cupcakes and candles," producer, music director, and Y'all member Jason Halbert said, as crew members rolled out several plates of cupcakes. Kelly, holding a vanilla cupcake in her hand, said: "The real gift is knowing how much Jason felt uncomfortable about doing that."

While Kelly was honored by her audience and the show's band, she will probably be celebrated by her children, daughter River Rose, 12, and son Remy, who just turned 10 in early April.
But, on air, this wasn't the first time the "Since U Been Gone" singer celebrated her birthday. Last year, Kelly was joined by Ben Affleck and his The Accountant 2 co-star Jon Bernthal. The daytime talk show host was left Kelly in awe as her guests entered her show rolling in a cart with several birthday cakes and a massive bouquet of flowers.
