Angelina Jolie has put her historic Los Feliz estate in Los Angeles on the market for $29.85 million. The home has been listed by Ernie Carswell of Sotheby’s International Realty Beverly Hills Brokerage as well as Jon Grauman with Resident Group.
The actress acquired the sprawling property located in the luxurious enclave for $25.5 million in 2017. The abode was previously owned by the filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille in 1916, and he expanded the structure by purchasing the neighboring Dodd residence.
Angelina's former home spans across two acres of land within Laughlin Park, boasting panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Observatory. The 11,000-square-foot property features six bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, a guest cottage, a tea house, a poll, and a gym.
Angelina's move
The star has previously opened up about her uncertainty over living in America, and it has been previously reported that she has considered leaving the US and buying a house abroad.
In 2024, she told the Hollywood Reporter: "I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they're 18, I’ll be able to leave."
In September last year, she candidly said: "I love my country, but at this time, I don't recognize my country. I’ve always lived internationally, my family is international, my friends, my life.My worldview is equal, united and international. Anything anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms from anyone, I think, is very dangerous."
She continued: "When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," Jolie said. "I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here."
Angelina's children
Angelina and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, share six children. Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and 17-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne. The youngest kids will likely move with their mother. Vivienne is a budding theater producer and even helped her mother produce the Tony Award-winning play The Outsiders in 2024. "My daughter Viv loves theater. She appreciates all theater but she certainly knows what she feels close to and what she responds to," Angelina told Deadline.
Unlike his twin, Knox largely keeps out of the spotlight, rather pursuing his passion for sports, such as athletics. The twins are set to turn 18 in July, being the last of Angelina's offspring to become official adults. As per her Hollywood Reporter interview, this will likely be the time that Angelina leaves the United States.
However, Angelina's daughter, Shiloh, is likely to continue pursuing her dance career in Los Angeles. The 19-year-old made her music video debut in "What's a Girl to Do" by Dayoung of Cosmic Girls. The song, which was officially released on April 7 accompanied by a music video, saw Shiloh make a striking cameo.
Meanwhile, Zahara is away studying at Spelman college and has been an active participant in student life activities on campus. Pax has worked as an assistant director with his mom and also worked as a behind-the-scenes photographer for her film project, Maria. Maddox has also collaborated with his mom and served as an assistant director on her film Couture.
