Olivia Rodrigo finally opened up about her alleged feud with Taylor Swift. The 23-year-old singer addressed the online speculation about her relationship with the "Bad Blood" songstress.

Olivia's third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, is set to be released on June 12. On her press tour, she was asked about her allegedly strained relationship with Taylor, 36, especially moments they may cross paths at Hollywood events.

"I don't really read too far into it. I think it comes with the territory and it's par for the course," Olivia said on the New York Times' Popcast. "If I dove into every internet detective sleuth that, like, got things right or wrong about my life, or any of my relationships, I think I'd just go crazy. Like, there's just not enough time in the day."

So, that's that. But what happened between the two Grammy award winning singers?

What happened between Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift?

In 2021, Olivia went viral with her debut single "Drivers License." Soon after, she released her first studio album, Sour, which broke the record for the biggest opening week for a female debut album. Olivia's second single, "Deja Vu," was inspired by Taylor's song "Cruel Summer."

"I wanted the last bridge to go crazy and I love 'Cruel Summer,'" she told Rolling Stone in April 2021. "It's one of my favorite songs ever. I love like the yelly vocals in it, like the harmonized yells that she does, I think they're, like, super electric and moving, so I wanted to do something like that."

A few months later, in July 2021, Olivia retroactively credited Taylor, Jack Antonoff, and St. Vincent as writers on "Deja Vu." When she was asked about this decision, Olivia told Teen Vogue: "Writing songs about how I feel has always been easy and fun for me, and I think the business side of music has been something I've had a harder time learning."

She continued: "I've been sort of growing through that this year, but I've just been trying to remember that I write songs because I love them…at the end of the day, I feel it doesn't have too much to do with me."

After Olivia released her second album, GUTS, fans speculated that a few of her songs – "Vampire" and "The Grudge" – were directed at Taylor. Olivia refuted those claims and told Rolling Stone in September 2023: "I don't have beef with anyone. I'm very chill."

For her part, Taylor has remained quiet about their relationship. But, at the 2024 Grammy Awards, she was seen dancing to Olivia's performance of "Vampire."

Olivia's relationship with Taylor is not the only online feud she's been tied to. After the release of "Driver's License," the internet exploded with speculations about her ex-boyfriend. These days, Olivia is over it.

"It made me feel detached from it. I had to feel detached from it in order to literally be okay. It's such a crazy experience," she said.
