Patrick Wilson is in Apple TV's newest psychological thriller, Cape Fear, which premiered on Friday, June 5. The series, also starring Javier Bardem and Amy Adams, follows a happily married couple just as a notorious killer from their past is released from prison.
While on TV, Patrick is fighting off a dangerous killer, in real life, he is happily married to his actress wife Dagmara Domińczyk and family members with Scandal actor Scott Foley. So, before you binge Cape Fear, learn everything there is to know about Patrick, his wife Dagmara, and his famous brother-in-law Scott.
The Succession actress was born in Kielce, Poland on July 17, 1976 and is the oldest of three girls. Seven years later, Dagmara and her family emigrated to New York City, seeking asylum due to her dad's involvement with Amnesty International.
Dagmara is proud of her Polish heritage. "I was raised in a Polish home, spent all my summers in Poland, but I used it to my advantage. In Poland, I felt different – in a good way. In the U.S., I decided to own my 'Polishness.' I never hid it and I never felt embarrassed of it," she told Variety in 2022.
Dagmara's little sister, Marika Domińczyk, is an actress too. Marika, 45, has appeared in Grey’s Anatomy, Whiskey Cavalier, and Barry. Also like her sister, Marika is married to a famous actor. She was introduced to her now-husband, Scott Foley, 53, by Dagmara.
The two married in 2007 and are parents to three children, daughter Malina, 16, and sons Keller, 14, and Konrad, 11.
The couple both attended Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although Patrick graduated three years before Dagmara, they became acquaintances while studying. Several years after leaving college, the two reconnected.
In 2005, a decade after Patrick graduated from Carnegie Mellon, the couple tied the knot. To celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary, Dagmara wrote to Instagram: "19 years ago I was blonde, smoked cigarettes, I worried about everything but was fearless too. I'd also found the love of my life. I don't smoke anymore, I'm no longer blonde & I worry a lot less. And somehow, I love this man more than I did back then."
Dagmara has starred in everything from Succession to Black Rabbit, but she also finds joy in writing. In 2013, she published her debut novel, The Lullaby of Polish Girls, which follows the lives of three friends over the course of their youth in Poland to their adulthood in different places.
"Writing was my first love, way before theatre and films came into play," she told Female Firstin 2014. "Coming to a foreign country as a child, one becomes very aware early on about the significance of language and communication. Books were my saviors, growing up."
The couple are also parents to three dogs – Mabel, Louise, and Eddie Van Wilson. They are animal lovers through and through, with Dagmara even knitting her puppies' sweaters. Patrick decided to name their newest pup Eddie Van Halen after the late musician, who the actor and his sons love.
The actress shared new details about their separation, revealing how years apart, therapy and an unexpected pandemic reunion helped save their marriage
