Mindy Kaling has been flaunting her toned figure since losing a reported 40lbs (18kg) over the last six years.
Her latest appearance was at the Los Angeles premiere for season two of Netflix's Running Point, where the co-creator and producer looked toned as she posed for photos alongside actress Kate Hudson. Proudly showing off her weight loss, Mindy wore a skintight gown featuring a silver sequin bra-like detail on the bodice, an illusion neckline with sheer sleeves, and a floor-length, pleated skirt.
Drop earrings and platform heels completed her risque ebony look, which perfectly offset Kate's angelic white gown.
Mindy began her weight loss journey in 2020 and has admitted she finds the interest in her physical transformation "flattering." She told People: "I'm feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I've been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately.
"I know people are really interested in my body and the changes in my body, and I think it's flattering and sometimes it's just a little much, so I don't try to tune it in too much," the multihyphenate added. "The truth is that I spend so much time and energy trying to be healthy."
While she created, produced, wrote and starred in The Mindy Project, the beloved sitcom that aired between 2012 and 2017, the actress sported stunning curves, which were evident in a throwback photo from 2016. She rocked a pink skirt and jacket co-ord layered over a floral shirt.
As her body confidence has grown, fans have seen Mindy model more daring outfits, from her form-fitting gown at the 2024 Met Gala, which hugged her figure, to her naked dress with a sheer mesh skirt at the Annual Actor Awards in 2026.
Fitness regimen
The Ocean's 8 star, who is a mother to Katherine "Kit", eight, Spencer, five, and Anne, two, added that she fits her workout schedule around her children.
"It's really a big commitment. It's hard with two kids that I wake up really early, and I fit it in – and I basically live in workout clothes so I can get it in, get an extra mile in."
However, her kids are one of the motivations behind her new focus on her health. "I grew up without parents who worked out. They were trying to establish themselves in this country and they did not put a premium on their own health and working out. So, I think it’s been great to show my kids that part of my life," she previously told E! News.
When it comes to her workout goals, she said she gives herself the target of doing 20 miles a week of either hiking or running, rather than measuring her weight on the scales. This marks a change from her former approach, which was to do "punishing" workouts she hated just to feel a sense of accomplishment.
"When I was younger, I had a very specific idea of how working out needed to be. It was like 45 minutes on the treadmill, seven-minute mile, it needed to be punishing, I needed to hate it," she said.
Varied diet
The 46-year-old shared on the Today show that she finds dieting too restrictive and is happier eating everything in moderation.
"I used to be the person that was like, 'I have to stop eating this food or six weeks beforehand I'm only going to juice,'" she said, adding that the diet would only work "30 per cent of the time" and "70 per cent of the time [she] couldn't stick to it."
Mindy concluded: "I am never going to stop being a foodie. I'm never going to be someone who can just have spinach and salmon every single day." Her diet consists of prioritising leafy green vegetables and minimising red meat and dairy.
