The Duchess of Edinburgh enjoyed a quiet dinner in London on 12 February, and re-wore one of her most boldly printed dresses for the occasion. Prince Edward's 61-year-old wife headed out in her capacity as the patron of the National Autistic Society to attend a dinner put on by the organisation at Trinity restaurant in Clapham.
Sophie opted for the 'Printed Crepe de Chine Midi Dress' by Etro, according to Royal British Fashion on Instagram. The piece featured a V-shaped neckline as well as long sleeves that cinched at the wrist and a tapered waist.
Sophie's stylish re-wear
She previously wore this exact Etro dress in 2023 while attending a reception hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla for the 400th anniversary of the publication of the first Shakespeare Folio at Windsor Castle.
For her London dinner, Sophie paired the dress with a pair of killer heels with a leg-lengthening stiletto heel. Her 'Romy 85 Pumps in Navy Suede' by the iconic luxury designer Jimmy Choo featured a pointed toe and a 3.3-inch heel and retail for £675.
The royal also carried Beauchamps of London's 'Codrington Clutch' in navy, and since her sandy blonde hair was swept up into a ponytail, you could see her lovely floral drop earrings by Adore Jewels.
Duchess Sophie's perfect polka dots
The outing in Clapham came after the duchess attended a reception at Windsor Castle to acknowledge paid and unpaid carers across the UK on 11 February. For this outing, Sophie, who lives with Prince Edward at Bagshot Park in Surrey, opted for her 'Polka Dot Midi Dress in Black & White' by Carolina Herrera with semi-sheer sleeves.
It was another recycled look from the royal. Back in 2021, Duchess Sophie wore the Carolina Herrera dress to an event at Hillsborough Castle in honour of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's 50th Annual British Isles and Mediterranean Region Conference (BIMR).
Then, she swept her blonde hair into an updo, but for the Windsor Castle reception, Sophie wore her hair loose for a more relaxed look. Polka dots are a popular choice among royal ladies across the generations, from Sophie to the Princess of Wales to her daughter, Princess Charlotte.
"A polka dot never offends; it feels approachable and joyful to anyone who sees it," fashion stylist Sian Clarke of Styled by Sian told us previously. "The print strikes a perfect balance between modern and nostalgic, appealing to multiple generations who watch and admire the royal family."
