Queen Camilla looked striking in pastel pink on Wednesday as she stepped out at Windsor Castle for the first day of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria's state visit.
The royal opted for a designer creation by one of her favourite occasionwear labels, Fiona Clare. Her dazzling dress coat was designed with a smart, tailored finish, and she added a silk scarf, which she tied elegantly around her neck.
Her trademark blonde mane was topped with an enchanting Philip Treacy hat, which featured appliqué flowers. It's wonderful to see the royal wearing such a pretty, feminine colour, which nods to the 'Barbiecore' trend, which was coined in 2023, after the release of the movie of the same name, in which Margot Robbie starred.
When Camilla has a formal event, she often turns to high-end fashion designer Fiona Clare, who creates the most stunning bespoke pieces for the royal, often in pastel tones.
"Personally, I think colour, whatever age, should be chosen to suit one's shape, style and personality," Fiona exclusively told Best Quality Designer Handbag in 2019. "Pastel colours are stunning as long as the tone is right, champagne, dusty pink and powder blue are wonderful colours, and with some embroidery or a beautiful trim, on a perfectly cut coat or dress, you will have a classic piece you will love forever," she noted.
Camilla's Diana-coded bag
Alongside her Barbie-esque ensemble, Camilla carried a sublime designer bag by Christian Dior, famously known as the 'Lady Dior'.
Camilla has the small version, and the shade she has is called 'Two-Tone Biscuit and Trench Beige Cannage Lambskin'. The bag is made up of quilted leather and has the brand's gold lettering charms hanging delicately on the strap.
This bag has a very heavy connection to King Charles' former wife, the late Princess Diana. It is a fair assumption that Diana inspired Christian Dior. The 'Lady Dior' bag was originally known as the 'Chouchou' when it was first created. However, in 1996, Diana was spotted with the bag, and it swiftly became an iconic piece for the brand.
Prince William and Prince Harry's mother adored the bag so much that from that point onwards, she was rarely seen without it. It became so synonymous with the royal that the fashion house gave it a swift revamp and named it after her. It's still one of the label's most popular bags to this day.
