It's no secret that Queen Rania of Jordan is one stylish royal, and she certainly proved her style credentials on Tuesday night while attending the Al Aman Fund Charity Dinner. Dazzling in head-to-toe sparkles, the Kuwaiti-born Jordanian royal wore a Giorgio Armani co-ord, as identified by Royal Fashion Police on Instagram.
The set featured straight-cut trousers, a vest, and a short-sleeved blazer that cinched beautifully at the waist. It also came with mock pockets on the hips to create a formal finish. The beautifully tailored three-piece was elevated further with silver 'Gianvito 105' heels by Gianvito Rossi and a Jacquemus clutch.
Her brunette tresses, which have been infused with caramel highlights, were styled in a swishy ponytail with strands pulled out in the front to frame her face beautifully. Her updo also showcased her statement earrings.
Why is Queen Rania's sparkly look so effective?
It's a look that certainly struck a chord with fashion stylist and alum of the London College of Fashion, Leanne Jones.
"Glitter is notoriously difficult to master; done badly, it can look cheap, but done well, it can be exceptional," she tells us. "What Queen Rania gets right here is the foundation, with the structure of a suit and a co-ord that is inherently elegant. That immediately elevates the sparkle, while the low contrast between the olive base and the gold shimmer also creates a softened metallic effect that flatters her complexion, rather than overwhelming it.
Wearing glitter in your 50s
There is something innately playful about Rania's sparkly look. "Perhaps the most important point here is that style doesn’t have an age limit," Leanne adds. "Whether you're in your 20s, your 50s, or beyond, you should feel completely free to wear what you love. Sparkle amd metallics, when worn with self-assurance, always work."
The exceedingly stylish royal doesn't often wear sparkle. She usually can be found wearing pops of colour or neutrals, but she did make an exception to the rule in 2019 when stepping out in a glittery houndstooth suit.
It was paired with a sparkly belt to cinch the waistline and a woven black clutch to tie in with her fine knit black top.
