The Princess of Wales is synonymous with long, cascading brunette hair. The 44-year-old royal's thick and healthy locks are envied by many around the world, prompting 2,400 monthly Google searches for the phrase 'Kate Middleton hair'.
Kate has always worn her hair long, either twisted into an intricate updo or loose and lightly tousled thanks to her famous 'Chelsea blow dry' created by Richard Ward.
But did you know that back in 2017, Kate actually had a bob? Falling in the long bob category, the shorter hair looked incredible on her.
The mother-of-three attended Wimbledon that year and delighted the crowd as she took her seat in the royal box, wearing a Catherine Walker & Co dress that was emblazoned with a charming poppy print.
Her hair looked even thicker and luscious at that length and what's more, there wasn't a stray hair or split end in sight.
Does Princess Kate wear hair extensions?
Many people have debated over the years whether the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis has enhanced her own hair with extensions.
HELLO! previously spoke to one of the most famous hairdressers in the world right now, who is mainly known for being Kim Kardashian's number one stylist, Chris Appleton, and he revealed that he doesn't think Kate relies on extensions.
"She's got great hair, she always has done. I can tell by the ends of her hair that they're not extensions. They have a softness to them and they're split in places."
Kate's very healthy diet no doubt plays a part in maintaining such a thick head of hair. We previously spoke to Registered Nutritional Therapist Lucia Stansbie, who revealed that what you eat plays a huge role in the health and vibrancy of your hair.
"A healthy scalp equals healthy hair, and omega-3 fatty acids are essential for reducing inflammation and promoting scalp health," says Lucia. The best sources? Fatty fish like salmon and sardine.
Collagen, zinc and biotin are also all vital when it comes to ensuring you're making the most of your locks, not to mention Vitamin D. The nutritonist explained: "Vitamin D doesn’t just support your immune system and bone health - it also plays a key role in the hair growth cycle. We synthesise it from sun exposure, but if you spend long hours indoors or wear SPF daily, consider supplementing, especially in the winter months."
Kate's glam squad
The lady behind Kate's famous mane is hairstylist Amanda Cook-Tucker. She's been with the royal for many years and creates all of her most iconic styles when on royal appointments.
Back in 2018, Amanda made headlines when she accidentally shared a peek at her toolkit for creating the royal's perfect locks. She posted a photo ahead of William and Kate's royal tour of Norway and Sweden, showing several different hair products used by the royal. Amanda wrote: "Think that's everything! #worktrip #packing."
The impressive kit included 13 brushes, seven combs, two hairdryers, three curling tongs, and featured Kiehl's Crème with Silk Groom, Charles Worthington mousse and L’Oreal Elnett hairspray, which of course, went on to sell out. Princess approved? Take our money!
