The Princess of Wales and her husband Prince William have lived at Forest Lodge with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis since last October. However, the royals still have a London base at Apartment 1A inside of Kensington Palace, where they can stay when in town for official engagements. Did you know that they have a rather unusual sleeping setup inside the royal residence?
Inside their regal abode, it is believed that the royal couple sleeps on the ground floor of the property rather than upstairs, as the upper floor is reserved for staff.
Their entourage of employees includes royal nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, who works full-time for the royals, caring for their three children.
Of course, royal fans have never seen inside the couple's private sleeping quarters, but they have been treated to glimpses inside other parts of their stunning abode.
When the Obamas came to visit them, the Wales' (then Cambridges) released images of the then US President and First Lady being welcomed into their regal home.
Their drawing room is very typical of a standard palace, featuring floral furniture, golden accessories and plenty of antique items. Rather surprisingly, it has been reported that their children's bedrooms have been decorated using IKEA furniture.
In 2018, during a visit to the National Museum of Architecture and Design in Stockholm, Princess Kate told IKEA's Head of Design, Marcus Engman, that she had chosen to fit Prince George's room with IKEA furniture. The couple also opted to do the same for their daughter Princess Charlotte, and we can only presume for little Prince Louis too.
Naturally, Marcus was overjoyed and said, "I'm proud that we can suit everybody. That's what we want IKEA to be – for the many people of the world, both royalty and ordinary people." It is believed the couple selected the mainstream brand for its durability.
We can only wonder what Kate and William’s own bedroom is like!

King Charles and Queen Camilla's separate bedrooms
The Waleses aren't the only royals with unconventional bedroom habits. In fact, King Charles and Queen Camilla are reported to sleep in separate rooms.

As depicted The Crown, it is believed the late Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip did not sleep in the same bed, or even the same room, which originally raised the belief that royal couples don't share a bed.

Reflecting on how amazing growing up at the Gloucestershire property was, Zara said: "It was a great place to grow up around horses, looking after animals - the respect and partnership that you have to build with the animals, it teaches you so much you know growing up and as a kid. It really is an amazing life starting to be outside as well, you know, all the time," she said.

The former couple called it quits in 1996 but remained living at Royal Lodge in Windsor together until they were ousted from the royal residence by King Charles.
Proving they're the friendliest of exes, the duo even looked after the Queen's late corgis together before scandal befell them. The Duchess of York told The Telegraph. of their unusual arrangement: "All I can say is that we’re happy with the way we are right now. We always say we are the most contented divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other.
"We are co-parents who support each other and believe that family is everything. I’m proud of the job we have done together in bringing up our children and sustaining a strong family unit. Our bywords are communication, compromise and compassion."
Princess Eugenie's international lifestyle
Princess Eugenie is the only British royal to split her time between the UK and Europe. While in London, Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their soon-to-be three children reside at the modest Ivy Cottage, a quaint cottage that looks like something out of a storybook.

It is believed that Jack was brought on board to head up the sales and marketing side of things for this very exclusive development, with prices for the sought-after homes starting from a staggering £3.6 million.
There are activities such as golf, horseback riding and yoga on the agenda, making it perfect for the young family.
