Harrison Ford has long lived in Wyoming, having purchased his Jackson Hole ranch in the early 1980s. However, before that, the Star Wars actor, 83, lived in the Hollywood Hills.
Located on Woodrow Wilson Drive, Harrison's 2,500-square-foot home became not only his bolthole but a personal DIY project as he set about renovating the property himself. According to Architectural Digest, the Indiana Jones actor's pad was originally built as a Forest Service lookout cabin.
Harrison's DIY project at Hollywood Hills pad
Harrison owned the three-bedroom residence, which was built in 1911, while he was working as a carpenter between acting gigs. In this home, he installed bespoke cabinets, as well as a sundeck.
"Everything I built is still standing," the actor, who is married to actress Calista Flockhart, told Parade in 2020. When the property hit the market in 2006, it reportedly still had much of Harrison's handiwork left intact.
Harrison's side hustle
During his time as a carpenter, Harrison worked on properties owned by Brazilian musician Sérgio Mendes, as well as The Godfather filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and writer Joan Didion.
"The last time that I packed up my tools to go do a movie, I had no idea I wouldn’t unpack them again," the star admitted in the 2020 interview. "And that was Star Wars."
Harrison's former New York condo
In stark contrast to his DIY project pad, Harrison's portfolio of former homes also features two New York pads. The first was one he and his now-ex-wife, Melissa Mathison, purchased in 1997. The couple paid $2.7 million for the unit that covered the 15th floor of the condo at 101 Central Park West.
Later, they purchased the 14th-floor unit and combined the two into an impressive 12-room duplex. By the time the renovation was complete, the space boasted four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a library, and panoramic views of Central Park.

His second was a penthouse apartment in Chelsea, an exclusive area on the West Side of Manhattan, New York.
The Hollywood heavyweight purchased the property on 206 West 17th Street for $5.3 million in early 2002, having split from his then-wife Melissa Mathison. His divorce from the screenwriter was finalized in 2004.
His bachelor pad featured a loft-style feel and sat over 5,500 square feet with a private roof terrace affording him a further 2,300 square feet. He sold the property for $15 million in 2012 after marrying Calista Flockhart in 2009.
