Look back: 14 January 2025
Exactly one year ago today we were all relieved to hear the news that the Princess of Wales was in remission from cancer.
After visiting the Royal Marsden in London, where she received treatment, Kate said in a personal message: "I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year.
"My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more.
"The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional."
Sharing an update on her recovery, the Princess signed off by saying: "It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.
"I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support."

Millie Bright receives OBE from Prince William
The Prince of Wales hosted an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle today, with Lioness Millie Bright among the recipients.
The Chelsea defender, 32, who retired from international football in October, was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to Association Football.
She won 88 caps during her England career and won the European Championship on home soil in 2022, before captaining the side to the World Cup final the following year.
Millie was not a part of the team that won Euro 2025, after she pulled out of the squad to prioritise her physical and mental health.
She made her England debut in 2016 and played in four major tournaments.
She was a key cog in the Lionesses' Euro 2022 triumph, starting in every game and keeping four clean sheets as the team clinched their first major trophy.
Millie then skippered the side at the 2023 World Cup, where England were narrowly beaten by Spain in the tournament’s showpiece.
When she announced her retirement, England boss Sarina Wiegman said the footballer will "forever be an England legend".

Speaking to the Press Association, she mused: "I've had to miss training today, which I don't think I've missed one session in my whole career so far. But I think, for the Royal Highness, I think I can miss a day’s training to receive this."
She added: "I don't feel like a fraud having OBE next to my name now that I've officially received it."

Duchess Sophie's heartfelt outing
The Duchess of Edinburgh paid a visit to the air ambulance service that once helped save her life.
Sophie, who turns 61 next week, was airlifted to hospital from her home in Bagshot Park by Thames Valley Air Ambulance in 2001, when she suffered a potentially life-threatening ectopic pregnancy.
The then Countess of Wessex had to undergo an emergency operation at London's King Edward VII hospital.
An ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilised egg implants itself outside of the womb, usually in one of the fallopian tubes. Unfortunately, it's not possible to save the pregnancy. It usually has to be removed using medicine or an operation.
She has since gone on to have two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, in 2003 and 2007 respectively. See the photos here.
