Prince Harry's barrister David Sherborne told the High Court that the royal feels as though he has "endured a sustained campaign of attacks against him" since he's taken Associated Newspapers Ltd on. Harry has also admitted to feelings of "distress" and "paranoia" due to the media intrusion.

Queen Letizia attends train crash site

Spain's Queen Letizia has been pictured in Adamuz at the site where a high-speed train travelling from Malaga to Madrid crashed into an oncoming train on Sunday. At least 41 people died and more than 120 were injured in the deadliest train accident in Spain in over a decade. Letizia looked sombre in black as she spoke to emergency workers.

Curling Queen!

The Prince and Princess of Wales headed north of the border on Tuesday, with the royal couple travelling up to Stirling, Scotland.

For their first engagement, the royal couple went to Stirling's National Curling Academy, where they are due to meet athletes competing in the sport in the upcoming Winter Olympics and Paralympics. Curling is one of Team GB's most successful sports, with teams across the Olympics and Paralympics earning eight medals in the discipline.

Back to court

The Duke of Sussex could begin giving evidence in the trial of his legal action against the publisher of the Daily Mail on Wednesday, the High Court has heard.

Harry, Sir Elton John, his husband David Furnish, campaigner Baroness Doreen Lawrence, politician Sir Simon Hughes, and actresses Sadie Frost and Liz Hurley are all bringing legal action against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over allegations of unlawful information gathering.

This includes claims that information for articles was obtained by carrying out or commissioning unlawful activities such as phone tapping and “blagging” private records.ANL has strongly denied wrongdoing and is defending the claims.

The King's emotional words

The King said he is "profoundly shocked and saddened" in a moving message to King Felipe following the train crash in southern Spain.

At least 41 people have been killed following a two-train crash in Adamuz, Andalusia on Sunday evening.

In the statement released by Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, Charles, 77, wrote to the Spanish monarch: "My wife and I have been profoundly shocked and saddened to learn of the appalling train accident in Southern Spain and of the many lives so tragically lost in such a disaster.

"We offer our deepest possible sympathy to all those who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of their loved ones and our special thoughts remain with those who have been terribly injured in this dreadful accident."

He continued: "We also wish to pay a particular tribute to the emergency services who responded so swiftly and courageously at the scene of the crash.

"We have the greatest admiration for their selfless service and unwavering commitment to helping others in their time of need.

"We hold the people of Spain in our most heartfelt prayers and stand with you in deep sorrow at this painfully difficult time."

WATCH: The Duchess of Edinburgh captured on camera as she reacts to birthday present

Sophie, The Duchess of Edinburgh was treated to an early birthday present as she carried out a military engagement on Monday.

Sophie, who turned 61 on Tuesday 20 January, visited The Royal Military School of Music at HMS Nelson in Portsmouth in her role as Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Corps of Army Music (RCAM).

The Army's trainee musicians played Happy Birthday to the Duchess ahead of her special day, and Sophie, who wore a military-style coat with a printed blouse and navy trousers, looked absolutely thrilled. Watch the moment here

WATCH: Princess Kate begs for another attempt at curling

Kate Middleton, The Princess of Wales displayed her competitive side as she begged for another chance to try curling during a joint visit to Scotland with Prince William on Tuesday.

The royal couple visited the National Curling Academy in Stirling where they wished good luck to Team GB and Paralympics GB Curling teams ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games that start in Milano-Cortina next month. 

William and Kate were given a five-minute demonstration on the ice by skips Bruce Mouat and Jennifer Dodds, who showed them how to push off from the rubber hack, a foothold in the ice, and use the slippery sole they were given to propel themselves forward.

After watching her husband's attempt, a nervous Kate stepped out tentatively onto the ice and hoisted her long skirt up as she got into position. Watch it here
