Inside Shia LaBeouf's personal life with wife Mia Goth and their daughter following arrest
The Transformers actor, Shia LaBeouf, was arrested in New Orleans after allegedly causing a disturbance at a Royal Street business on Tuesday, February 17.
Shia LaBeouf had a tough weekend in New Orleans. The Transformers actor spent the past few days in NOLA for Mardi Gras, allegedly "terrorizing the city" and wreaking havoc. And on Tuesday, February 17, Shia was arrested.
Per the New Orleans Police Department, the 39-year-old actor was kicked out of a Royal Street business early Tuesday morning after causing a disturbance.
In a news release, the NOPD said: "Once removed from the building, the victim reported being struck by LaBeouf who used his closed fists on the victim several times. The victims reported that LaBeouf left, but then came back, acting even more aggressive."
The arrest came after a weekend of Shia popping up in several New Orleans bars "somewhat belligerent," per The Hollywood Reporter.
Shia, who is married to the Frankenstein actress Mia Goth, 32, has yet to make a statement about his arrest. Here's a look inside the actor's personal life with Mia and their daughter after the fallout of his Mardi Gras celebrations.
Shia and Mia met while filming Nymphomaniac: Vol. II
The actors met in 2012 while filming Lars von Trier's 2013 drama Nymphomaniac: Vol. II. While the thriller was Mia's film debut, it was just another in Shia's long resume. The same year Nymphomaniac: Vol. II was released, the two actors worked together on a music video for Future Unlimited's "Haunted Love."
"When I think domestic, I feel love," Shia explained to The Hollywood Reporter about his inspiration for the video. "When I think violence, I feel haunted. 'Haunted Love' for me was about lovers pushing each other to the edge."
After making their red carpet debut as a couple in October 2014, Shia and Mia married two years later in a Las Vegas ceremony presided over by an Elvis Presley impersonator. To the 2016 ceremony, Shia wore a dark suit and white sneakers while Mia wore a white lace wedding dress.
But, a few days after photos of the wedding were shared on social media, Clark County of Nevada posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Our records show no marriage license for Shia LaBeouf & Mia Goth. A commitment ceremony was performed #Vegas."
On September 25, 2018, Shia's reps confirmed that he and Mia "filed for divorce." A couple of months later, the actor was seen kissing singer FKA Twigs while out in Los Angeles.
Shia and Twigs dated for over a year, with the singer later alleging that Shia had sexually and physically assaulted her during their relationship. She filed a lawsuit against him, accusing Shia of "relentless abuse."
In July 2025, Shia and FKA Twigs reached a private, out-of-court settlement just months before the trial was set to begin.
During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, it appeared that Shia and Mia reunited and were spending lockdown together. But those happy moments together ended in December when Shia was seen kissing Margaret Qualley.
Although their relationship status confused fans, Mia showed off a baby bump while on a walk in Pasadena, California in early 2022. In April of that year, the pair were seen on another walk together pushing a stroller.
While Shia was caught up in other Hollywood drama – cough, cough the Don't Worry Darling chaos – he wrote a letter published by Variety confirming his daughter's name and age.
"I have a little girl, Isabel; she is five months old and just beginning to develop the last half of her laugh; it's AMAZING," he wrote. "Mia, my wife & I have found each other again & are journeying toward a healthy family with love and mutual respect."
In 2024, Mia told Another Magazine: "[Motherhood] just changed me on a cellular level. I'm incredibly protective. I don't have time for bull-[expletive] in the way that maybe I did in the past and maybe that's helped a lot."
Shia and Mia are very private, but it appears that they are still together, last seen publicly in July 2025 in Los Angeles.
Shia revealed in a 2023 interview with Jon Bernthal that: "[Mia] saved my [expletive] life." He continued: "She was present for me at a time when I didn't deserve to have nobody in my life, especially her."
