Gwen Stefani's '90s style playbook was defined by low-rise pants, micro-mini tops, and sky-high heels, finished with diamanté face jewels, pastel-blue hair, and midriffs perpetually on display. At the turn of the millennium, she captivated the fashion crowd as her solo career began to skyrocket.

As Y2K continues to reign supreme on the style set, it seems it's not just fashion folk who are revisiting Gwen's iconic looks of the era. The "No Doubt" singer is feeling particularly nostalgic this week, as she took to her Instagram Stories to share a throwback video of one of her most daring ensembles from the period.

The video was taken from the Tragic Kingdom release at Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View California, in May 1997. The blonde beauty rocked a red crop top that was embellished with intricate sequins and a pair of low-rise leather pants for the performance. The buttery leather garment was elevated by a striking white stripe running down the legs, adding a bold, graphic accent.

Gwen's bleached-blonde locks were styled into a messy, effortless updo while her makeup oozed Noughties glam – think glittery eye shadow, heavy blush, and a dark berry lip.

The Voice coach has always had a flair for fashion. "I remember back when No Doubt was just starting out: We didn't have a record out, and I was in school. I would spend my time daydreaming about what I was going to make for my costumes. That's something I've always done. As soon as I knew we had a show, I'd be off to the fabric store. And I'd be really excited. It's just something I've always, always done," she told Glamour in August 2009.

Today, Gwen's tour wardrobe still embraces her signature glitzy glam embellishments, but now blends them with more punk-inspired staples, including red tartan and knee-high leather boots.

The singer graced the stage at The Sphere in Las Vegas on January 6 in a black lace bra that was adorned with gold badge accents on the cups. The lingerie was layered over a black fishnet bodysuit and styled with a pair of patchwork red and yellow plaid, flared pants that were worn beneath a matching pleated mini skirt.

Gwen's ensemble came as the visible bra trend continues to pepper the fashion frontlines in recent seasons. During Miu Miu’s autumn/winter 2025 runway, bras were layered beneath ribbed knits or seen peeking out from under ruffled silk dresses. Simone Rocha styled fuzzy fur bras with leather jackets and billowing skirts, while Sarah Burton at Givenchy layered delicate bras beneath sheer mesh dresses.
