Kate Hudson had an extra special date for Hollywood's biggest night.

On Sunday, March 15, the Almost Famous actress stepped out on the red carpet outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles alongside none other than her mom (and Oscar winner herself) Goldie Hawn.

The Oscar-nominee is nominated for Best Actress, for her role in Song Sung Blue, opposite Hugh Jackman.

For the special night, Kate donned a stunning, minty green custom Armani Privé gown, completely bedecked in gem-like rhinestones, featuring a peplum bodice.

She paired the look with a dazzling Garatti necklace, and had her signature blonde hair styled into soft waves swooped to the side.

Meanwhile Goldie, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Toni Simmons in Cactus Flower in 1970, wore a black sequin dress adorned with silver rhinestones along its plunging neckline and matching black gloves.

Kate, speaking with E! News on the red carpet on what she has been reflecting on in the lead up to Oscars night, shared: "That work ethic goes a long way you keep plucking away, and when you do what you love and keep focused you find yourself in these incredible situations every once in a while."

Her nomination tonight comes exactly 25 years since her last nomination, for starring as Penny Lane in Almost Famous.

Also in her category are Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, who has swept all previous awards, as well as Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, and Emma Stone for Bugonia.
