Alysa Liu has been living her best life since she recently won gold for figure skating at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
The athlete attended the Vanity Fair Oscars Party for the first time on March 15.
The Olympian's night out
She donned a unique Louis Vuitton black minidress which featured large padded shoulders, and gray flowers with black beading all throughout.
Alysa finished the look off with black tights and pointy heels, as she rocked a loose bun, smokey eye shadow, her signature smiley piercing and her original striped hair.
The Olympian also reunited with fellow Olympian figure skater Madison Chock on the red carpet. That wasn't the only outfit that Alysa wore during the celebratory evening.
Prior to enjoying the post-Oscars festivities, she attended Elton John's AIDS Foundation 2026 Oscars viewing party.
During the dinner she sported tailored black pants, a black blazer, and a satin white turtleneck.
Her moving story
Alysa has become a household name overnight ever since her reign at the Olympics, being that she reinvigoriated the sport through her fun performance music, alt-style, and refreshing mindset.
The athlete started skating at the age of five and her schedule was packed with back-to-back practices and competitions, which led her to burnout at the age of 16.
At that time, the performer felt she had no more energy to give to the sport and found herself resentful of it since she didn't get to experience "normal" teenagehood.
In 2022, she made the bold choice to step away from the sport and retire. She didn't tell her father Arthur Liu or her trainer that she made the decision, and instead announced it on social media.
Alysa revealed: "I'm here to announce that i am retiring from skating. I started skating when I was five so that's about 11 years on the ice and it's been an insane 11 years. A lot of good and a lot of bad…I feel so satisfied with how my skating career has gone. Now that I'm finally done with my goals in skating I'm going to be moving on with my life."
Her comeback
She took two years to focus on resting, enjoying her newfound hobbies and creating moments with her friends.
The athlete returned to the rink a new Alysa, as she rediscovered her love of skating again thanks to a skiing trip that brought back having an adrenaline rush for sports for her.
Alysa revealed about her journey: "If I didn't hit rock bottom, I could not have gone up," per Rolling Stone.
