During Monday's Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa announced that March 30 was a special day because it was "the birthday of [her] favorite person on this planet, Mark Consuelos."
The team surprised the co-host with a sweet AI video featuring their dog Lina, who was adopted in 2021. Kelly announced: "Your favorite child has sent you a message."
In the clip, Lina was heard wishing Mark a happy birthday. Lina said: "Hi daddy! I'm getting ready to celebrate your birthday. I'm staying hydrated and getting my steps in. Guess what? In dog years, you're 385 years old, but you don't look a day over 55 to me. Love you. Kisses!"
Mark gets emotional
After the video was shown, Kelly asked: "Are you crying?" Mark confessed: "Is it weird that I got emotional? I got emotional. Who am I? What's happened to me? That's the nicest thing. Thank you. I needed that."
Kelly joked: "They worked with Lina in Central Park. They worked with her for hours to get her to talk out loud like that," as Mark replied: "Aww, so sweet."
Mark gets candid
Mark revealed how he's really feeling, having reached the mid fifties. He shared: "I feel good. I feel better now than I did 10 years ago, which is interesting."
Mark also got candid about the state of his body compared to his parents'. He recalled that he and Kelly have now reached the age their parents were when they first started dating in their early 20s.
The TV star revealed: "They would get in a cab – I would always take my parents somewhere, and I just remember…" Kelly interjected: "It took a long time for them to get into and out of a cab…a lot of huffing and puffing."
Mark confessed: "I realized it's getting kinda harder for me to get out of the tread on the side of the door [where] you put your foot down."
Kelly added: "Everything seems a little dangerous now. It all seems dangerous." Mark added: "I'm getting out of the cab and I'm annoyed with myself. That's the only thing I feel. Things pop and snap when I get up in the morning."
He continued while knocking on wood: "But I still don't get up to go to the bathroom, which is good."
Kelly joked: "Knock on all the wood. He's just cursed himself. Tonight it begins." Mark continued: "It's the small things." The TV host lovingly concluded: "I'm very happy you were born," as Mark added: "Me too."
Kelly and Mark met in 1995 on the set of All My Children and they got married the following year. The pair share their three children Michael, Lola and Joaquin together.
