20 years ago, the finale of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County premiered on MTV. The reality TV show that followed students attending Laguna Beach High School launched the careers of several household names.

These days, the stars of Laguna Beach, which ran for three seasons from 2004 to 2006, are finding success on TV and in business. Let's take a look back at the cast of the groundbreaking reality show, everyone from Lauren Conrad to Stephen Colletti.

Lauren Conrad, 40

In the early 2000s, there was no one cooler than Lauren Conrad. The reality TV star was the it-girl of Laguna Beach High School, known for her sweet persona and soft spoken sensibility. Lauren was the breakout star, going on to star in the Laguna Beach spin-off series, The Hills – in which she earned an annual salary of $2.5 million.

Throughout her career, Lauren has worked at Teen Vogue, attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, launched an online store called The Little Market, and collaborated with Kohl's to launch her fashion line, LC Lauren Conrad.

The now 40-year-old is also a bestselling author of six novels and a fashion guide. These days, Lauren is married to guitarist William Tell, and is the mom of two sons, Liam, eight, and Charlie, six.

While fans of Laguna Beach yearn to see Lauren back on screen, she recently told her former co-star, Kristin Cavallari: "It would be really cool to end my career with the same people I started it with. And then when this is all over, I can..."

"Hang up that entertainment hat," Kristin interjected.

On Laguna Beach, Kristin was the foil to Lauren. The two were in a love triangle with Stephen Colletti, which was amplified on the reality show. Like Lauren, Kristin joined The Hills. She went on to appear in its sequel, The Hills: New Beginnings.

In 2011, Kristin competed on the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars, partnering with Mark Ballas. After being eliminated in the third round, she shifted her career into red carpet correspondence, commentating on the Academy Awards for E!.

Kristin's reality television career continued in 2018 when she starred in Very Cavallari. The show aired for three seasons, ending in 2020. The reality TV star has a knack for podcasting. In 2022, she and her Laguna Beach co-star and ex-boyfriend Stephen started a podcast called Back to the Beach with Kristin and Stephen where they revisited the show.

And in 2023, she launched another podcast called Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari where she gives relationship advice and interviews experts and other celebrities.

Kristin was married to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler for nine years, divorcing in 2022. The couple share three children together – Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 10.

The man that broke all millennial girls' hearts was Stephen Colletti. On Laguna Beach, Stephen was the center of a love triangle between Lauren and Kristin, but he didn't return for the third season.

After graduating from high school, Stephen attended San Francisco State University for a year before dropping out to pursue his acting career. And he's been successful at that. In 2007, Stephen was cast in One Tree Hill playing Chase Adams. He was on the show until the series finale in 2012.

In 2026, Stephen appeared on the reality competition show, The Traitors, lasting until episode nine where he was banished by his fellow contestants.

Lauren "Lo" Bosworth was featured as Lauren [Conrad's] best friend in Laguna Beach, only making a few appearances. Her personality was better shown on The Hills, where she became a supporting cast member during the second season.

Lo and Lauren documented the ups and downs of their friendship on reality TV, from big fights to adopting a dog named Chloe together. After The Hills wrapped in 2010, Lo didn't return to reality television.

Instead, she focused on other aspects of her career, from launching a website called The Lo Down, to founding a company called Love Wellness. In 2025, Lo tied the knot with Dom Natale at her childhood home in Laguna Beach. This January, she gave birth to a daughter.

While Lo chose not to live her life on television, she kept a relationship with Lauren. "Lauren and I are in touch, but everyone else went their own way after the show," she told People in 2023. "They were more like my coworkers, not like friends I'd organically had since middle school like Lauren. And I don't really know anyone who keeps up with their coworkers from 20 years ago. There's this assumption of, 'Oh you must stay in touch,' but I don't think that's normal for anyone."

While the stars of Laguna Beach were Lauren, Kristin, Stephen, and Lo, Talan Torriero was a key member too. Like Kristin, Talan was a junior in high school at the beginning of the first season. In season two, Talan opened up about his romantic feelings for both Kristin and fellow cast-member Taylor Cole.

After Laguna Beach wrapped, Talan continued his acting career, starring in American High School, Fat Kid Rules the World, and Bar Starz. In 2014, he married Danielle Torriero. Talan shares his life as a dad-of-three to social media.
