Blake Shelton has opened up about his quiet ranch life in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, sharing how it brings a sense of balance to his fast-paced showbusiness career with his wife, Gwen Stefani.

In a new interview with Forbes, the singer revealed that he prefers hunting, fishing, and farming to the bustle of the limelight. "I don’t even care if I miss an opportunity by not responding to a text or a phone call," he said of his time in Oklahoma. "It’s really the only way I can maintain some sanity."

Blake quit The Voice in 2023 and left his longtime label Warner Music Nashville a year later. "I just turned it off and went to the house," he shared. "I don’t think anybody really thought I would indulge like that, when I said I’m going to the farm, and I’m just going to the farm. And that is truly what I did."

He continued: "It was just too good of a job to walk away from, until one day the frustration outweighed everything else."

The singer also shared an insight into what his fans can expect from his future music. "Now that I’ve gotten to this point in my life," he said, "if I’m giving up some time in Oklahoma, it needs to be for something that I know is going to count."

Blake and Gwen's home life

Blake and Gwen met on The Voice and went public with their relationship in late 2015. In 2020, they announced their engagement on Instagram and a year later tied the knot at Blake's Oklahoma ranch.

Gwen shares three sons, Kingston, 19, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11, with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. However, Blake is actively involved in raising his wife's three boys.

Blake purchased the Oklahoma lot for around $4 million before he and his wife built their dream abode. The pair raise animals at the ranch, and they even built a chapel on the grounds. The family split their time between their Oklahoma ranch and their $14 million mega-mansion in Encino, which is in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles.

In June last year, Blake revealed that constant rain had caused some of the 1,300 acres of land on the ranch to sink. "About to do a little spraying on my sweetcorn. Got all my stuff loaded up there in the orange Kubota, and man, it's been one of those years in Oklahoma," he said in a video shared on Instagram.

"It's been awesome, but man, we've had a lot of rain, and areas that look dry, even though they look dry, they're saturated."
