Who is Charlie Chaplin?
Charlie Chaplin is an icon of early comedy, famous for his work throughout the first half of the 20th-century. Hits like Modern Times (1936), The Kid (1921), City Lights (1931) and The Gold Rush (1925) are particularly well-loved.
But Charlie was active on-screen before this, creating his iconic Tramp character in the 1910s. Arguably his most iconic character, the Tramp character was used in many films from 1914 onwards.

The comedian's personal life
Charlie first tied the knot in 1918, wedding American actress Mildred Harris when she was 16. The pair separated two years later. He married his second wife Lita Grey in 1924 when she was 16, welcoming two sons before they separated in 1927.
He said 'I do' to his third wife, actress Paulette Goddard in 1936 before parting ways in 1942. His fourth and final marriage was to Oona O'Neill, who we wed in 1943. They welcomed eight children together and remained happily married until his death in 1977.

Game of Thrones
Oona appeared in two seasons of HBO phenomenon Game of Thrones as Talisa Maegyr. She works as a field medic before catching the eye of Robb Stark, who (spoiler) decides to defy his treaty with Walder Frey and follow his heart.
Sadly, all does not go to plan and Oona provides a heart-crushing performance in Season 3 during 'The Rains of Castamere'. We'll get the tissues...
