Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's brood just got bigger. The happy Hollywood couple welcomed a new addition to the family, arriving just in time for Goldie's 80th birthday.
The adored actress revealed she and Kurt welcomed a rescue dog into their home and gave him an adorable name.
In true Goldie style, she delivered the news in a quirky way. She used a photo from a recent shoot in which she sat in a wide-legged straddle on top of a living room table. Underneath the extravagant piece of furniture stood an adorable looking pup.
"Kurt surprised me with him for my birthday a few months ago. Rescued all the way from Korea through @lifeanimalrescue and already stealing the spotlight (even from under the table) during our @people shoot," she wrote, before acknowledging the other dog in the photo, their beloved pet Roy.
"Big brother Roy loves him," she confirmed. "We all do. Lucky us."
Rescue animals
Life Animal Rescue was one of the first to comment and wrote: "We are so thrilled for Rocky to have the most amazing family filled with love! Thank you for opening your home and hearts to this sweet boy- we are so grateful!"
Many fans said they loved the name they chose and also referenced their other pooch's moniker.
Goldie and Kurt rescued Roy as a puppy in 2021 and fans believe his name is a nod to her hit film Overboard.
Roy is the name Goldie's character, Joanna, guessed her 'son' is called after she is quizzed by onscreen 'husband' Dean — played by Kurt. In the hit 1987 movie, Joanna loses her memory and carpenter Dean tries to brainwash her into believing she is his wife, Annie, and the mother of his four sons.
Many of Goldie's fans quickly commented that they were having an Overboard flashback.
Famous family
Goldie and Kurt's pets will undoubtedly be showered with love from the famous family.
The pair raised four children together. Goldie shares Oliver and Kate Hudson with her ex, Bill Hudson, Kurt has a son, Boston Russell from his relationship with Season Hubley, and they share a son, Wyatt Russell together.
Goldie and Kurt are also proud grandparents to eight grandchildren.
In an interview published in HELLO!, she previously revealed their nickname for her: "My grandkids call me GoGo."
Speaking to Australian Women's Weekly about the family dynamic, she said: "A good family is the answer to happiness. I look at our kids and grandchildren and there's nothing in the world that could make me as proud as I am of all of them.
"Being a grandmother is amazing, I love it. It brings incredible joy. Family is so important," she added.
