Not one to chase the spotlight, Chelsy Davy has kept details of her engagement and wedding with her husband, Sam Cutmore-Scott, under wraps.

In a rare public display of affection, the Aya Jewels founder, 40, shared photos of her engagement ring to mark her wedding anniversary, alongside photos of her husband with their three children, Leo, Chloe and Finn.

"4 years, 3 kids, 2 very tired people. Happy Anniversary @mr54mcs," she wrote, before hinting in the hashtag that their rings were bespoke designs from her own company.

With his arm slung over her shoulder, Sam showed off his black and gold band, while Chelsy wore a diamond and sapphire ring stacked next to her infinity wedding band. According to Brett Afshar, a qualified gemmologist and founder of Queensmith, the colourful ring is an "adventurous" version of the traditional round-stoned trilogy ring.

"Chelsy's ring is what we would describe as a deco statement trilogy ring, which features a beautiful 3.00ct sapphire in an emerald-cut with kite-cut diamonds on either side," Brett exclusively told Best Quality Designer Handbag , adding the 0.5 carat kite diamonds "tend to give a bigger look than they are."

"The centre stone also features double claws, which help draw attention to the sapphire. For a high-quality natural sapphire of 3.00ct you'd be looking at about £12k - with colour and treatments taking prices upwards," he explained.

Meanwhile, Jessica Flinn-Allen, a jewellery designer with a degree in metalwork and founder of Jessica Flinn Fine Jewellery, noted that the value could be much higher if the sapphire is of Ceylon origin. "A ring like this could sit anywhere from £15,000 to £40,000 or more, depending on the quality of the stone and finish," she began, agreeing that it is a non-traditional design.

"The design itself feels very current. The double claws around the centre stone give it a sharper, more modern edge, and the kite cut white diamond side stones add something a bit different. It is not a traditional combination, which is why it works so well.

"What is particularly interesting here is that she is wearing her own design. That level of confidence is something we are seeing more of, with people choosing rings that reflect their personal style rather than following a standard formula," Jessica added.

Royal romance

The former couple dated from 2004 to 2011

Before meeting her husband, the Zimbabwean businesswoman famously dated Prince Harry from 2004 to 2011. They met during the royal's gap year in Cape Town, but split due to the pressures of being in the royal spotlight.

Harry penned in his memoir Spare: "I cherished Chels's carefree and authentic spirit. She never worried about what other people thought. She wore short skirts and high boots, danced with abandon, drank as much tequila as I did, and I cherished all those things about her... but I couldn't help worrying how Granny might feel about them."

Chelsy and Harry reportedly split over privacy concerns and conflicting schedules

He added: "And the last thing I wanted was for Chels to change and accommodate them... I [didn't] know if Chels could handle it."

Alongside struggles with the paparazzi, the couple also called it quits due to conflicting schedules. "We'd be lucky to see each other a handful of times over the next two years, and that was no kind of relationship... Goodbye Chels," Harry wrote.

Chelsy went on to find love with hotelier Sam and has embraced the privacy of her family life in Mauritius. The couple got married in 2022 and are now parents to three kids, whom Chelsy affectionately said she happily juggles alongside her jewellery career.

In a rare update on Mother's Day, she shared photos of her kids and confessed: "Running Aya alongside raising Finn, Chloe and Leo is a juggle, but it’s one I’ve chosen. And one of the wonderful things about the world we live in today is that many of us have that freedom - to shape our lives in the way that feels right, whether that includes motherhood, a career, creativity, or something entirely different.

"This Mother’s Day, I’m embracing the juggle I’ve chosen - and celebrating all of you embracing yours."
