Charlotte Riley and Tom Hardy are a fan-favourite couple in the entertainment industry, having captured the hearts of viewers – and each other – ever since starring as Cathy and Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights (2009).
In an interview with The Times, Charlotte recalled the moment she met her "cheeky-chappy" husband, confessing: "He made me a really decent cup of tea. Strong. There's not much point if the spoon doesn't stand up."
"And he told me that his mother was northern," she added. "So I thought, all right then. When somebody can give as good as they get, you know you're in for a good time."
A year after meeting, Tom proposed, and the pair tied the knot in 2014 in an intimate ceremony that reportedly took place at the 18th-century French castle, Château de Roussan.
The wedding was attended by Tom's son, Louis Thomas, whom he shares with his former partner, casting director Rachael Speed. A year after getting married, Tom and Charlotte welcomed their daughter in 2015, followed by a son in 2019.
Tom and Charlotte's TV and film projects
As well as juggling life as parents, Charlotte and Tom are both busy with their respective acting careers.
Charlotte, best known for her roles in Peaky Blinders, In the Heart of the Sea and Edge of Tomorrow, is set to star in the BBC's latest drama, Babies. The six-episode series also stars Paapa Essiedu and Siobhán Cullen, who play a couple experiencing miscarriage with "humour, warmth and an unwavering bond".
Meanwhile, Tom has a number of projects in the pipeline, including another instalment of his hit gangster series Mobland, in which he plays Harrigan family fixer Harry Da Souza. If you're after a Tom Hardy fix this week, be sure to tune into Film4 on Monday to catch his 2014 crime thriller The Drop, in which he stars opposite James Gandolfini.
