Queen Rania of Jordan is one of the most effortlessly chic women in West Asia, and easily one of the most elegant royals, who epitomises the classy style and luxury that contemporary royal fashion should represent.

Whether it's for a more casual engagement in the city, an adventurous look for a more active journey, or a classically smart look for a more diplomatic or serious occasion, the Jordanian royal always looks her best.

When she welcomed the German Federal President and First Lady at Al Husseiniya Palace on Wednesday, 18 February, she stepped out in a full designer look that featured both fashion-forward and traditionally opulent styles that embodied the balancing act of fashion that she has so artfully mastered over the years.

As identified by royal style blogger @royalfashionpolice on Instagram, she wore an oversized asymmetrical coat from Ferragamo, which featured an almost scarf-like drape over the right shoulder and a belted waist that flattered her figure.

Underneath the gorgeous coat, she opted for a fluid deep brown ensemble, centred around a silky blouse from former Spice Girl turned iconic British fashion designer Victoria Beckham, and a draped midi-skirt with a tie-like accessory holding it up, mirroring the asymmetrical silhouette of her jacket.

As always, the 55-year-old ensured that her accessories perfectly complemented the rest of her look: she brought out a 'Hug' top-handle handbag, also from Ferragamo, a pair of slim sunglasses from Loewe and a pair of glossy burgundy pumps from Aquazzura, an international royal favourite when it comes to designer shoes.

Queen Rania is one of many royals to turn to Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham's tailored designs have become loved by members of many royal families, especially the British royal family, but why is that? We spoke to Clare Pennington, HELLO! Fashion's Editor, who explained to us why the Beckham matriarch's label has gained so much popularity among the royals.

"It's become shorthand for a minimal elegance that's fashion-crowd approved," she began. "That's thanks to smart details and final touches that you might not spot on first glance."

The most recent instance of a British royal wearing the designs was on 28 January, when the Duchess of Edinburgh made a rare joint engagement with the Duke of Kent to visit the Surrey Space Centre in Guildford, where she later stayed to see other students at the University of Surrey.

The 61-year-old wore a two-piece forest green suit from Victoria Beckham, which featured a fitted single-breasted jacket that highlighted her figure, as well as a pair of high-waisted flared suit trousers for some edge.
