King Charles and Queen Camilla descended onto the red carpet on Monday, after they touched down in the United States for their highly anticipated state visit. The pair arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to begin their four-day diplomatic tour, which will take them to Washington, D.C., New York, and Virginia.
Camilla looked beautiful in her glorious lilac coat dress, which is a new addition to her wardrobe. The tailored design is by Christian Dior and features a belted waist, a smart, structured collar, and visible pockets stitched delicately at the side.
Sporting a plethora of designer items, the mother of two styled her ensemble with a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet and a coveted Bottega Veneta woven bag.
Camilla's wedding earrings
As Camilla's bouncy blow-dry swished, onlookers got a glimpse of her fabulous earrings, which were from her wedding to King Charles in 2005.
A cherished item in her jewellery box, they featured a single round diamond at the heart of a sparkling cluster and a dangling pearl.
Thought to be a gift from her husband, it has been widely reported that they were worth around £38,000.
The royal often wears them for royal visits and engagements. It's worth noting that her precious earrings are actually clip-ons; she declared in 2022 that she has never had her ears pierced. "The grandchildren will try to persuade me, but nothing's going to pierce my ears," she told British Vogue.
Camilla's daughter, Laura Lopes (née Parker Bowles), also wore a pair of her mother's earrings when she married Harry Lopes in 2006. It was reported that they were her 'something borrowed'.
Queen Camilla's pastel power
The royal often opts for pastel clothes like her new Dior dress - a great choice which lifts her complexion and complements her blonde mane.
"Personally, I think colour, whatever age, should be chosen to suit one's shape, style and personality," Fiona Clare, Camila's go-to fashion designer, exclusively told Best Quality Designer Handbag in 2019. "Pastel colours are stunning as long as the tone is right, champagne, dusty pink and powder blue are wonderful colours, and with some embroidery or a beautiful trim, on a perfectly cut coat or dress, you will have a classic piece you will love forever," she noted.
