Rosie Huntington Whiteley is quite the jetsetter when it comes to her work as a model and actress, but it seems the Mad Max star is craving calm. In a new interview with Vogue Australia, Rosie, 38, revealed that she is leaving city life behind and is set to move to the English countryside of the New Forest.
"There’s an incredible dressage school around the corner," the star said, having revealed that horse riding was central to her childhood, but living between London and Los Angeles in recent years has made it impossible to enjoy this hobby.
"I've been dreaming of this since I left home. It will be mud and kids climbing trees. London on the weekends can feel very destination-driven. I want peace."
Rosie is also keen for a slower pace, as she revealed that going to parties where drinking lots of alcohol is the norm is not high on her agenda. The star suffers from severe migraines, worsened by the consumption of alcohol, that can cause her to lose days at a time.
Where does Rosie live?
For now, Rosie maintains a home in London, which she purchased in 2021 as a bolthole with her partner, Jason Statham, and children, Jack, eight, and Isabella, four. It reportedly set the A-list couple back £7.5 million and followed the sale of their £14 million Malibu beach house the year prior.
It was a long time in the making for Rosie. "It always stayed in my mind because when I first moved to London as a model, I stayed with a relative who lived around the corner, and I used to walk down this road and say to myself, 'One day, I would like to own a house like that'" she told Vogue Australia in 2023.
Creating a dream home
The beautiful space, which features a cream interior. Though Rosie has impeccable dress sense, the decor in her and Jason's home is a joint effort. "Jason has the most impeccable taste," she told the publication. "He taught me so much about architecture and furniture."
The couple met at a London party in 2009 but kept their relationship under wraps for two years before making their public debut in 2011 at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. They got engaged in 2016 but have yet to tie the knot.
Of the decision to enjoy a long engagement, Rosie told People in 2018: "I think the time will come. We've been so focused on our work for so long, and Jack came along…It's also not a huge priority for us, we're so happy. I think it will be fun to do it when the baby's grown up a bit and he can be involved in the wedding."
