Josh Gad is continuing to stay right by his mother Susan's side while she deals with an undisclosed medical emergency.
The actor, 45, first shared news of his mom's condition earlier in the week, when he was at Disneyland Paris to attend the opening of their latest experience, the New World of Frozen.
Susan Gad's health scare
Unfortunately, he had to leave early to care for his mom. "So truly heartbroken that I arrived today to take a tour and celebrate the new New World of Frozen at @disneylandparis this week and instead have to leave tomorrow morning (before I even have a chance to see any of it) to be with my mother who is unfortunately dealing with a serious medical emergency," he penned.
"Thank you to the entire staff of my beautiful hotel, and all of the people who organized this incredible event that will sadly have to wait for another day," Josh continued on Instagram, adding more about the new French exhibit.
He concluded with: "In the meantime, please keep my mom in your prayers. She needs all the good energy she can get."
An update
On Saturday, March 14, he once again took to Instagram, this time with a recent photo of his mom, sharing an update on her condition and once again asking for fans and friends to keep her in their "thoughts and prayers."
"This is my mom. She gave me life. Right now she and us are fighting for hers," the Frozen star wrote. "This is Susan Gad. My hero. My rock. My world. If you can, please send her all your good thoughts and prayers. She needs them (and deserves them)."
Celebrity friends like John Stamos, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Michael Strahan, Elizabeth Hurley, Kerry Washington, Hannah Simone, Kristin Chenoweth, Jodi Benson and more shared their support on the post, as did several fans.
"God Bless you Susan. Thank you for gifting us Josh. Sending you healing and much love," one wrote, with another similarly adding: "Praying for your Mom & sending you all the love I can," and a third commenting: "Surrounding your mother Susan with love, light, and healing energy!"
Josh and Susan
Josh is incredibly close with his mom, often paying tribute to her on social media on not just her birthday, but also his own. Case in point, on February 23, to celebrate his 45th birthday, he instead shouted her out.
"45 years ago, this poor woman gave birth to me," he quipped beside a selfie of theirs. "I always think that birthdays should actually be celebrations for those who actually did all the work during the birth."
"So, please help me celebrate my mother Susan who pushed me out and gave me this incredible life I have." Similarly, on his mom's birthday back in 2024, he wrote: "A lot of people think they have the greatest mom on the planet."
"But I know for a fact that that title belongs singularly to my mother @susangad who not only raised me and my brothers as a single mother, but insisted that we follow our dreams at all costs, even if it meant she had to work non-stop to give us that opportunity. I love you so much Mom. Thank you for guiding me, teaching me, loving me, protecting me, challenging me and lifting me. You are a one-of-kind."
