America's sweetheart Shirley Temple was a young Hollywood star behind a plethora of movies including Bright Eyes, Curly Top, Heidi and more.
The iconic actress passed away at 85 years old in 2014, and today would have been her birthday.
Apart from her thriving entertainment career, she also had a blooming personal life which included three children named Linda Susan Agar, born in 1948, Charles Aldren Black Jr., born in 1952 and Lori Black, born in 1954.
About Shirley's children
Linda, who goes by Susan Black, was Shirley's firstborn and she welcomed her into the world with her first husband John Agar.
She gave acting a try on her mother's show called The Shirley Temple Storybook but she ultimately decided it wasn't for her.
Susan gushed about her close bond with her mother, stating: "We had a lot of parties.
We had a lot of fun decorating the dining room. Being a wife and mom is the greatest of her achievements. We were shopping and travel buddies. We went many places together. She was one of my very best friends," per Closer Weekly.
Shirley welcomed Charles into the world with her second husband, of the same name.
He shared to Closer Weekly in another interview: "She was wonderful — and normal. We had dinner at the table every night all together."
Charles also appeared on Shirley's show, however, he too realized that acting wasn't for him and he became a real estate agent instead.
He expressed to SF Gate just how special Shirley and Charles' relationship was, revealing: "[They] didn't sleep apart from each other for more than a couple of days. They adored each other."
He continued: "She married my dad and found a man upon whose love she could count absolutely and he adored her and she knew it. She just blossomed."
Shirley expressed to the outlet: "He was the love of my life."
She recalled the special moment that they met, saying: ""We were introduced, and he said 'What do you do, are you a secretary?' I said, 'I can't even type. I make films.' He wasn't too sure what I did. It was very refreshing to me – a handsome guy who wasn't interested in Hollywood or anything about it."
Of all of Shirley's children, Lori was the only one who got involved in the entertainment industry as a bassist for a rock band called the Melvins.
In 1991, Lori pleaded guilty to drug possession, had to pay a $385 fine, did 120 community service hours and underwent two years of probation.
She also went to regular therapy sessions and attended a rehab center. Since then, she has gotten clean and became a freelance photographer.
