Kate Hudson brought a special date to the Time100 Gala in New York City on Thursday, her handsome son, Ryder Robinson.
The 22-year-old proudly supported his mom at the glitzy event, where she was honored in the 'Icons' category as part of the magazine's list of the "most influential people" of the year.
Not wanting to steal her limelight, Ryder left his mom to pose on the red carpet alone, joining her for some photos once inside the venue.
Ryder was all smiles as he towered over Kate, who beamed just as brightly while wrapping her arm around her son's waist for a photo.
The duo both wore black for the event, with Ryder opting for a classic jacket and matching pants with a white shirt, while Kate rocked a midi dress featuring exaggerated cape-like sleeves and a plunging neckline.
She added a gold brooch at the waist and matching gold bracelets over black leather gloves, completing the look with sheer black tights, pointed pumps, and a sleek updo.
While Ryder's red carpet appearance is rare, he has been accompanying his mom to more events recently.
It's not surprising that he is taking advantage of the networking opportunities, as Kate recently revealed that he hopes to follow in her footsteps and become an actor once he graduates from New York University in May.
Oh yeah," she replied to Entertainment Tonight in February when asked whether Ryder wants to become an actor. "He's graduating from college this year, can't believe it, so exciting. I think he's the first in like three generations to graduate from college."
Kate explained that her eldest son is dedicated to the craft and "wants to be doing good work". "He's really focusing on college, he's not trying to get in front of the camera just to get in front of a camera," she explained.
"I think when you grow up in our family… you gotta understand the craft and believe it in a different way if you're gonna do it," Kate added.
Ryder recently appeared in Netflix's Running Point alongside his mom and in the short film, Sweet Tooth.
Aside from acting, Ryder's other passions include designing and building furniture as well as playing the guitar in the alternative rock band The Codependence. "And I thought, 'Wow, you're so cool.' And he's fantastic," Kate gushed over her son.
Kate welcomed Ryder when she was just 24 and married to Chris Robinson, the lead singer for the Black Crowes. The pair were married from 2000 to 2007.
The Song Sung Blue actress also has two other children: Bingham, whom she shares with ex-fiancée Matt Bellamy, and Rani Rose, whom she shares with her current fiancée Danny Fujikawa.
