King Charles has kicked off a series of events to celebrate his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, by visiting a landmark exhibition in her honour. Charles, 77, was joined by his wife, Queen Camilla, 78, and the late Princess Margaret's daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto, to visit Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style at the King's Gallery in Buckingham Palace, an exhibition by the Royal Collection Trust.
It is the first in a series of events celebrating what would have been the late monarch's 100th birthday, showcasing all that she achieved throughout her landmark 70-year reign.

A double Spanish royal outing
While King Felipe and Queen Letizia were busy welcoming the Portuguese president to the Royal Palace, Queen Sofia attended the audience with representatives of Proyecto Hombre Granada for its 25th anniversary at the Zarzuela Palace.
The non-profit organisation was founded in 2000, focusing on the treatment and prevention of addictions in the province of Granada, without prejudice.
Pretty in pink
Queen Letizia looked wonderful in pink today as she joined King Felipe in welcoming the President of the Portuguese Republic, Antonio Jose Seguro, King Felipe VI and the First Lady, Margarida Maldonado, to the Royal Palace.
The Spanish Queen opted for a pastel midi dress with an unusual high neckline. The figure-skimming garment was paired with bow-adorned kitten heels and uber-feminine flower-shaped earrings.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden celebrated a major milestone this Sunday, 19 April 2026, as their eldest son, Prince Alexander, turned 10. To mark the occasion, the couple shared a new portrait of the young prince, who bears a striking resemblance to his mother. Alexander is the eldest of four siblings, followed by Gabriel, eight, Julian, five, and Princess Ines, one.
Although Alexander holds the title of Duke of Södermanland and sits fifth in the line of succession, he is not styled as a Royal Highness. Following his grandfather's 2019 decision to streamline the monarchy, Alexander and his siblings do not hold official institutional roles, allowing them more personal freedom as they grow up.
Sarah Ferguson's family breaks silence on her 'vanishing act'
Sarah Ferguson is reportedly prioritising "family first" as she retreats to the Austrian mountains following her first public sighting in four months.
Speaking on her state of mind, her cousin Martin Barrantes revealed that Sarah's withdrawal from public life is fuelled by a "fierce determination" to protect Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as her grandchildren, from further scrutiny.
Having been spotted at a secluded wellness resort last week, the 66-year-old is said to be focusing on her family's well-being during this period of significant personal and reputational transition.

Did you spot the non-Danish royal at Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine's confirmation at the weekend?
Prince Vincent has the honour of counting King Felipe of Spain among his godparents, and in a surprise move, the Spanish monarch made sure not to miss the event.
King Felipe had a clear schedule this Saturday until the evening, when he travelled to Seville for the 9:00 p.m. kickoff of the Copa del Rey final between Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad.
Remembering Queen Elizabeth
The Royal Family official Twitter page has shared a nostalgic video of Queen Elizabeth ahead of what would have been her 100th birthday on 21 April 2026.
The caption read: "On her 21st birthday in 1947, Queen Elizabeth II pledged to devote her life to the service of her people. She remained true to her word – undertaking official duties up until her final days. Tomorrow would have been her 100th birthday. Ahead of events to mark the anniversary, we look back on Her late Majesty’s life and work."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle subtle PDA moment
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a rare public display of affection during their recent trip to Australia, a moment captured in behind-the-scenes footage shared by the former actress. The clip, posted to Instagram, shows the couple exchanging a kiss before walking hand-in-hand onto the stage at the Her Best Life retreat in Sydney.

Did you know that the late Queen Elizabeth II would sit down to watch Channel 4's Countdown every afternoon? This was until the show's the transmission time changed and her structured daily schedule was altered.
In Gyles Brandreth's new book, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, the broadcaster revealed that the late monarch had a TV routine she followed when she wasn't occupied with official duties.
Gyles wrote: "At 1:00 p.m., before a light lunch (she was not fussy about her food), she might treat herself to a gin and Dubonnet: equal measures, two lumps of ice and a slice of lemon. (The lemon was sliced for her.)"
He continued: "At 2:30 p.m. she liked to walk the corgis. (When the afternoon transmission time of Channel 4's Countdown was changed, she stopped watching, she told me.)"
Sarah Ferguson's Argentina ranch
While Sarah Ferguson is thought to be lying low in Austria following the arrest of her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the stripping of her and Andrew's Duke and Duchess of York titles and honours in 2025, she also has the opportunity to keep a low profile in Argentina.
Sarah partly owns a ranch in the South American country, according to the Daily Mail.
Meghan Markle's $64 candles inspired by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet
Meghan Markle will be releasing two $64 candles for Mother's Day in the US, which are inspired by her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to a press release obtained by PEOPLE Magazine, "Signature Candle No. 506" is inspired by Archie's birthday on 6 May and includes notes of ginger, neroli and cashmere, while "Signature candle No. 604" is inspired by Lilibet's birthday on 4 June, with notes of amber, water lily, and santal.

A new report has revealed that the one family member offering support to Sarah Ferguson amid the fallout from her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest in February.
According to the Daily Mail, Sarah's cousin by marriage, Martin Barrantes, has revealed that she "wants to protect her children and her grandchildren".
"We spoke around three months ago. I wanted to give her my support in a difficult moment for her, with all that was going on with the Epstein Files," said Martin.

The exhibition, which opened earlier this month and marks the centenary of her birth, draws from Queen Queen Elizabeth's personal fashion archive – now part of the Royal Collection.
