Fashion's biggest and starriest night went off without a hitch on Monday, May 4, with the world's elite descending upon the famed steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual Met Gala.
The theme for this year's Met Gala was "Costume Art," with the dress code specifically being "Fashion is Art," and while several attendees played it safe with gowns, beautiful gowns, many others went above and beyond to meet the bar.
Among the highlights were Chase Infiniti in a Thom Browne sculpted gown, Heidi Klum's statue illusion, Emma Chamberlain's custom Mugler painted extravaganza, and let's not forget, co-chair Beyoncé's skeletal crystalline Olivier Rousteing gown.
And the singer wasn't alone at the event, making her return to the Met Gala after a decade-long break, joined by her husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy, who made her debut at the annual fashion showcase at the age of just 14. Check out some more highlights below...
While Blue technically broke the rules by attending (the Met imposes a strict 18+ policy for attendees), she did manage to get by as the daughter of a co-chair (as did Nicole Kidman's 17-year-old daughter Sunday Rose).
Sharing her take on the night's festivities was Beyoncé's mom Tina Knowles, who appeared on NBC's TODAY for its Third Hour, discussing her memoir, Matriarch, and of course, the Met Gala itself.
When asked what she thought about her granddaughter making her Met debut the night prior, Tina, 72, emphasized that she was deeply moved, saying: "Oh my god, I got really emotional, shed a few tears."
She explained that it reminded her of seeing Beyoncé make her own mark at such a young age, a tradition Blue was clearly following in. "It was kind of reminiscent, because Beyoncé started her first red carpet at 15, and Blue is 14."
"Just seeing her out there, looking confident and beautiful, it just brought tears to my eyes," she gushed, with Al Roker quipping that it was like looking at "both versions of Beyoncé," to which Tina exclaimed: "Deja vu!"
Speaking with La La Anthony during the Met Gala livestream, Beyoncé said of her look, which was topped off with a matching sparkly headpiece and a feathered opera coat: "It's designed by Olivier Rousteing, somebody who has been so loyal to me, and I've done so many iconic looks with him."
Blue, for her part, wore a cream Balenciaga gown with a dramatic puffer train, paired with a matching bolero jacket, sunglasses, diamond accent jewelry, and beach waves that made her look even more identical to her mom.
The night's theme, Costume Art, also spoke to the "Irreplaceable" singer, who described it as a way to celebrate all kinds of bodies, adding: "Juicy, curvy, thin, [just] celebrating whatever God gave you."
Of course, she was particularly excited to be there for Blue's Met Gala debut, saying: "It feels surreal, because my daughter is here. I am excited to experience it through her eyes."
